so i swaddle Annabelle and have since she was born, she wouldnt settle without it when she was younger so i started and we havent looked back.
The swaddle blanket i have says upto 14 weeks. last week i tried Annabelle in one of the sleeping bags, she had stopped sleeping through the night so i thought whilst we was tackling that we would introduce the sleeping bag.
She still didnt sleep through but the next day was really weird, she was flinching all the time and really easily startled.
anyway we found out she had been reacting to her milk and that was why she wasnt sleeping through so we went back to basics with everything, milk, swaddle etc. she slept through again and have for a full week.
last night i tried the sleeping bag again and she kept waking throughout the night crying, we gave her her dummy and she went back off but would soon wake back up.
today she has been really flinchy again, she has startled in her sleep and woke up screaming like she is scared.

do i go back to swaddling her because i feel like she may start being frightened of bed or something, i cant see her being scared like that over something as easy as swaddling, i dont mind continuing the swaddling im just not sure what to do when the blanket gets to small.

any help would be really grateful

Hannah was swaddled until she was over 6 months old. We didn't try to wean her off of it she just kind of stopped doing it herself eventually (would break free immediately and sleep the rest of the night without being swaddled so we stopped swaddling her)

Yes same with Max, he started wiggling out of it during the night and still sleeps right through, if i were you id carry on with the swaddling until LO decides shes had enough of looking like a caterpillar!! :)

XXXXX Good Luck XXXXX

i agree, carrying on with the swaddling honey, what ever works best for mummy and baby is the best imo x

My little one wanted to be swaddled until she was about 3 months or so... She made the choice and that made it a great transition... I suggest you let the LO decide for optimum results :baby:

We still loosly swaddle Cormack. If she likes it I'd keep doing it!

I was lucky so to say max never liked being swaddled but my friends son still needs it and hes 12 months lol poor thing it looks like a stray jacket on him but its comforting

We used a swaddle me (had velcro!) untill Kathryn kept kicking out of it. At that point we had already been able to get her to take her naps without being swaddled, so it wasn't too difficult a transition. We've got a larger size though that we use occasionally when she's having a bad night (like if her gums are really bad, etc.).

I still swaddle too and my LO is 17weeks. We used to use a miracle blanket but he breaks free too easily now that he is bigger so we have moved to the "aussie swaddle" where you swaddle their hands by their faces so they can chew on their fingers if they want to. If you google it - it will show up and you can just use a regular blanket - I use a cot sheet which is plenty big enough and he doesn't get too hot - you can always put a lightweight blanket over the top if your room is cold.
Hope that helps!
