Thanks ladies, a few have said it hinders development and I was a little worried, but she loves it and its the only way she sleeps all night, she still has the startle reflex and would constantly wake herself up, I am having trouble keeping her in, she always manages to get a hand free and then starts fussing, but I have a new way and it seems to be working so fingers crossed, good to know others are still swaddling!
We swaddled LeeAnne until she was just over 5 months or so! It was the only way she would sleep! Even now some nights we have to swaddle her one arm until she falls asleep and then unswaddle her otherwise she wont sleep!
I think it did slow her down a bit-took her a bit to get control of her arms, they were always flailing all weird! But if it makes your LO feel safe then continue!
I only stopped swaddling Isla about a month ago and she's much more restless at night since we've stopped. I would have kept going but now she's rolling over I don't feel happy doing it.
Thanks I didnt see how it could make any difference to her development as we only swaddle at night when she would be asleep anyway like all other babies so was a bit confused how this could affect development, shes fine and a really clever girl and has great arm control.
