swapping formula

I've had a few problems with the (cow&gate) formula i've been using since jayden was born. he used to scream with every feed and wriggle and get really bad wind. when i swapped to hungrier baby cow&gate milk from first stage he seemed to be ok on that. now, again he's started screaming with each feed and wriggling so much i cant finish feeding him i don't know what to do.

Should i switch to a different formula?
I have some aptimil cartons in the cupboard, as i was going to switch before but then he got a bit better.

Anyone else experienced this with their lo?

(I have tried the comfort stuff and it didn't suit him either)

Please help!

I've never experienced this... How do you hold him when you feed him? Maybe he has reflux and needs to be in a more upright position?

I hope someone with more experience with this problem comes in here!

thanks. he does have reflux and i always make sure i hold him upright when i feed him.
i have swapped to aptamil and so far so good! he seems really content whilst feeding so far and doesnt wriggle or cry! so fingers crossed
i wonder what was in the cow&gate to upset him :S

Do you heat his milk up Hun? Do the opposite to what your doing ATM I.e give him a room temp feed. Some babies just don't like warm milk. Or the other thing is maybe the milk ain't coming out fast enough 4 him, could maybe try next stage teat! Whatever it is I hope it gets sorted 4 you soon. There's nothing worse!! * hugs *

thanks for your reply. i use powdered milk so its already hot (as i make it up with boiled water and cool it down). you can only give the ready made cartons at room temperature straight away without having to heat up.

hes on stage 2 teats. i've just changed his milk to hungry baby aptamil and so far so good so for some reason cow&gate hungry baby milk wasnt agreeing with his tummy. x

Hiya hun...my LO used to also suffer from reflux...its really not nice is it We started on cow and gate however he used to be crying alot so i changed to the cow and gate for hungrier babys however this made no difference...i eventually changed to Hipp organic as it just seemed to agree with him more...luckily he has now grown out of his reflux.

Im glad you have found a formula that seems to agree with bub...try not to change too much and too often because it can cause tummy upset and constipation...fingers crossed he continues to like aptimal...Goodluck hun xx
