Swelling / Fluid Retention?

Hey there! Since getting home from the hospital, I've noticed that I've got a ton of either swelling or fluid retention above and below my incision? It's like a pocket of swelling and/or fluid at the belly level and at the pelvic level. I'm just wondering if this is normal? I had an unplanned c section and did no research on them ahead of time and I just feel woefully unprepared for this recovery!

I had this pretty extensively - like a big puffy band from just below my belly button to the top of my thighs. Even my lady parts were involved! The doctors watched it closely in the hospital, but decided it was nothing dangerous. It resolved over timw. I think it was 90% gone after two weeks, but took over a year before things resembled my pre-pregnancy state.

Keep an eye on it - especially for any signs of infection or wound separation, but it will probably resolve on its own.

Get it checked out, it doesn't sound normal. Could be an infection.
