Hi - I was using Avent bottles from about 10 days when stopped BFing however I decided to try Dr Browns last Friday to see if helped with hiccups and straining to go to the loo or pass wind.

Not sure if they've made any difference but she doesn't dribble as much and seems to gulp less.

However, she's also drinking less milk, was doing between 4 and 6 oz on the avent ones and now only usually 4 max with Dr Browns and she's totally zonked after so must be having to work harder for it.

Anyone had any experience of this? Any advice, should I stick with Avent?

Thanks

When we went to Dr Browns we discovered that the slowest Dr. Brown nipples were slower than the equivalent ones in other brands. You might try increasing the size to the next one, if it is too fast, just go back to the slower ones, you will need the faster ones eventually.

Funny you should mention it but my LO was the same and it wasnt hard work for her to drink either.
I did notice and thought I was going mad but 7oz on my TT bottles measured much less than 7oz in Dr Browns bottles and I did it measuring in water.

My OH ended up biting little holes in the DB teats so that she could get more out, but we're on a thicker milk

I find the MAM bottles used with Cow & Gate Comfort milk eliminated her colic completely

Thanks - she's not actually really colicing but does grizzle at times in the day and gets hiccups a lot so thought I'd try Dr Browns.
