Hi, I am stopping Breastfeeding my son at 11 months as I need to start medication now. I was planning to wait til 12 months but circumstance has changed that. I would rather give him formula for this last month than go straight to cow's milk.

My questions are: do I need to sterilise bottles at this stage? Would putting them through the dishwasher be enough? How often and how much should he be having at this age?

I think it would be easiest to switch him straight to cups, he's plenty old enough! :)

I was told by my hv you don't need to sterilise after 6 months. We give the bottles a good wash and then rinse with boiling water just before making up the bottle.
