Hey Jacky, im no expert as at present have only recently been diagnosed myself and my gp hasnt gone into it with me but ive done a lot of reading and it seems P.C.O.S can be so different for each person. For starters you can have polycystic ovaries but not polycystic ovaries syndrome, think they are two different things, in other words you may have polycystic ovaries but none of the symptoms.
I haven't got all of the symptoms, only get some excess hair, really heavy and painful periods but they are normally regular and ive never missed one. I have battled with my weight since I was 19, was a size 10 and slowly crept up and up and am now a 16. Really struggle with my weight but like I said from what Ive read its different for everyone by the sounds of it. I dont have diabetes either I think they just say because p.c.o is a hormonal imbalance and can effect your insulin resistance, it means you can be at higher risk of high blood pressure, cholesterol diabestes when you are older doesn't mean you necessarily will have all those symptoms.
My mum just gave me a book on it all and its made a bit more sense, like Krissi said she read one with recipe ideas etc and it all makes sense now Ive read that.
Just wanted to ask if anyone else had had boils ect only cos Ive had them for a couple of years now and have wondered why I get them and wondered if it was linked to P.c.o.s. Your lucky if you dont get them, they are horrible, painful and unsightly! Nice combination!
Can completeyl understand why you must be battling your weight if youve only just given birth!!! Wish I had a good excuse like that! Ive got a fat belly and havent had any kids at all!!!! Your weight im sure will come off though in time .
Do you mind me asking, did you conceive naturally or did you have help??
Only im waiting for my fertility appt at end of Sept and dying to get more info on p.c.o.s and fertility x
