I am 14 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing tail bone pain tima and again.
i experience it when i sit down and more painful when am standing up.
is this normal am getting worried.
my bump is still fairly small and am carrying one baby.
has any one experienced this??:growlmad:

I had this also when i was around 14 weeks and was painful when i walked. I dont know if it was related but i heard a really loud click when i moved in bed one night and it stopped hurting. I still get it on and off now, someone said to me it could be my pelvis rather than tail bone but felt like i'd really bruised my tail bone. Mine did ease off, i think it is just where everything is all moving about and your body's getting used to it. Hope you feel better soon! x

I've got that.. cant remember when it started but I've read that it'll continue until giving birth! It's become quite annoying when sitting and getting up!

Ya it definitely feels like tailbone! I think someone tried to tell me it was my pelvis but it literally feels like I fell flat on my tailbone and hurt it!!

I had it in the first trimester, probably between 10-12 weeks. I only got it some days at work. I have a desk job and sit down most of the day. On days it would bother me I made a point to get up every half hour and walk around, it seemed to help. I finally asked my midwife about it and she said it didn't sound out of the ordinary but I could go to a chiropractor, but after I asked about it - it magically stopped. Like my body knew that I was going to try and do something? So far it has been staying away. I have a feeling when I put more weight on it might come back though...

ETA: I also wanted to add I was under a lot of stress at work when it was bothering me, and when I got done with the stressful project, the pain quit...

I have it. Got it at about 23 weeks and its only getting worse. I am sitting on pillows when I can. Mine literally feels bruised, hurts so bad. If you find relief let me know!

I have it!! Researched it and it's pretty normal. It's got to do with the Relaxin hormone we produce when pregnant which relaxes the muscles and ligaments in our abdomen. This includes the ligaments that hold the tailbone in place, which means that it can become more mobile and that's why it hurts! Best suggestion is to sit on nice cushions and support your lower back. The better your posture, the less painful it will be!

I've had it since about week 9-10 and it got so bad that I went to a chiropractor. I was having toruble walking and getting up. I was icing it and then putting a heating pad for a while. Nothing helped really. It has just now started to ease off a little. I hope it doesnt come back full fource again because its is unbearable at times. It is fairly normal in pregnancy though. Babies just happens to be positioned on it. Not a lot we can do about it.

just been to the gynae and asked about it.
she suggets i get some heat rub and heating pads so i sit on them to ease off the pain.
she explains its the muscles stretching and it might have something to do with hormones as well...
am going to try it. hope it works

Well darn, I should never have posted in this thread. I knew as soon as I had post "mine seems to be gone" it would COME BACK. Sure 'nuff, it did. Yesterday it was really bugging me and still is today. I had a stressful day at work, then after work and water aerobics I went to my sisters basketball game and sat down for another couple of hours, that is when it really started bothering me.

Back to looking for chiropractors I guess.

I have it too, I have a desk job and I'm sure my computer chair is making it worse !

I bought a special pillow off of amazon that is called the tush cush that has seriously helped me a lot. Its specially designed to take the pressure off of your tailbone when sitting. Invest in one if your pain gets too bad. It has saved me!
