Taking less formula

Alex has always been quite a hungry little boy, polishing off his feeds in less than 15 mins most of the time. He was having 6oz 5 times a day for the past month or so but has suddenly stopped taking so much and is now only having 4oz with each feed - he seems perfectly happy and healthy and doesn't want feeding more, he's still having plenty of wet and dirty nappies - so I'm not overly concerned just wondered if this happened with anyone else's baby or should I get a quick check up with the health visitor - I'm worried that he's really not having enough at 13 weeks?

i was wondering the same ...archie at 7 weeks was taking 6oz now at 11 weeks he taking 4 or 5 ...im sure its fine though as long as theyre happy and gaining weight and have lots of wet nappies he should be fine...i think growth slows down slightly after the first 3 months so maybe they dont need to pack it in as much??

Liss has just started taking less at 'some' feeds. 3 oz less than normal at one of her feeds today. I have put it down to her getting bored with the teats though as it takes her an age to drink the bottle and she falls asleep. I tried her on next size up last week, but she wasn't keen but gonna try again. I also noticed that when she had less feed today, an hour or so later she was really upset, so I gave her some water and she calmed down after that so thought she was just thirsty and didn't want the milk. Who knows!

what number teat is he on?, he might want to go up a size only a theory though rhys is on number 2 and i tried a 3 as he was faffing soo much with bottles,
he cries as though he's hungry i put the bottle in and he starts lauhging, number 3's were too big he just got covered in milk.

im having the exact same problem, my little one was taking 25-30oz in 24hours last week and this week he's only taking 20-24oz i think im going to have a word with the HV x

He's on number 2 teats but I'm not really sure that's the problem - he still guzzles his milk down in about 10 -15 mins max. It's just he's not taking as much, think I'll give the hv a call after the bank holiday.

This has happened with Seren a couple of times, normally after a few days it gets back on track. She's like it at the moment, and gone from taking 7oz in about 10mins, to taking 3/4oz and then refusing to take anymore. It's really frustration and I do get quite upset about it but I'd give it a few more days, and if it carries on then speak to the HV.
