Hey,
I had laporoscopy yesterday and was pleases to find out both tubes are open. He did say I have mild endometriosis on right side. From what I've read this is nothing to celebrate. Anyone else have it that can offer me any advise? Anyone get pregnant with it? Book says diet and stress have an impact - time to make some changes??

Hi hope you're not feeling too uncomfortable after your lap.

I had mine 8 weeks ago, and they found mild endo on my right ovary. It's been left for the time being, but she doesn't think it's a huge factor in my infertility.

Did you get yours removed? Also, do you get any pain? Although mine is mild, I get terrible pain :growlmad:

Hey, mine is on right ovary too and yeah I get twinges. I was suspicious there was something. I'm bit sore today and sleepy. Only getting up now. Is your belly button mangled or does it go back to normal.
He didn't sat he removed any of it, I didn't know enough at the time to ask.
How long u been trying?

Hi ladies, I also have mild endo and was diagnosed 10yrs ago. I was diagnosed in 01 and conceived my son in 02 when I wasn't looking to become a mommy (wouldn't change it for the world). Now that I want another child I have secondary infertility. I had my last lap with fulgeration of endometrial implants last June and was told to kick it up a notch in my efforts to get pg. Duh! Like I already wasn't. T2C, your belly button will have small scars but nothing more. Every time I forget how many surgeries I've had I count the scars lol. If you have any questions fire away, I'm here for both of you. Hugs and speedy recovery

Hey Trying I've been ttc for over about 16 months now, with a mc a year ago and nothing since then.

I'm on clomid at the mo, and it's making the endo pain worse, Think it's the oestrogen. :growlmad:

I've still got a small scar leading in to my belly button, but it's pretty neat and it fades loads with time I've been told.

How long have you both been ttc for? Red Sox what stage is yours at, mine is stage 1.

They have never told me what stage oddly. The last lap they removed endo from my pelvic floor, uterus, and bladder. I should be starting clomid in may so it's interesting to hear that it's making your endo worse cause I really don't need any extra pain.

Funnily enough the pain during AF was better this month, but it's now it's really hurting. (Day 7). :growlmad:

Hey sugar. I'm 16 months too! But nothing. I can't imagine how devestating mc was for u but sometimes it's really hard that nothing has happened at all.
Feeling much better today.

Hey, would you mind if I asked a question, i suffer from extremley painful periods, could this be a sign that I have this? So far Dr's haven't found anything wrong with me have to wait months betwenn tests.

Did you ladies know you had this before TTC or have you discovered it now you are ttc?

sorry to crach your conversation!

Sophe

Sophe, I was diagnosed 10 yrs ago when unexplained pelvic pain was so bad that I was passing out and had to be placed on temp. total disability. When I had my first surgery my bowels were adhesied to my pelvic floor, endo on my ureters that couldn't be removed and endo on my uterus. I have always had extremely painful periods that would leave me bed ridden for at least the first day. I would get random cramping at any time of the month. I have often told people that it sometimes feels like my pelvic area was raw inside and that even the simple act of sitting can cause me pain. You could have endo, but the only way to tell is to have a lap done. How long have you been TTC?
T2C glad to hear your feeling better, take it easy Hun.

Hi

Here is a very positive article about mild endo. :

https://humrep.oxfordjournals.org/content/11/suppl_3/103.full.pdf

I have endo. too but it is severe. However I experience no pain or heavy bleeding so I like to think this article is about people like me. It took me 6 months to get pregnant with this endo. and that was aged 35. perhaps I was just lucky but I like to think that endo. doesn't necessarily mean you will have a problem getting pregnant.

Good luck xxx

Thanks red, am not too bad.
I didn't know I had endo, do have quite heavy painful periods but I think when ur ttc u become much more aware of ur body. I had noticed twinges on right side and when surgeon asked me did I feel anything I told him about twinges and he said that was the endometriosis. But what I've read says the amount of pain doesn't correlate with the severity of the endo.

But what I've read says the amount of pain doesn't correlate with the severity of the endo.

The amount of pain doesn't necessary correlate with the severity of the endo, but sometimes it does. I have stage IV (severe) endo and have always had extremely long, painful periods, heavy bleeding, spotting mid-cycle, etc. So in my case, the pain did correlate.

Sophe, painful periods could possibly indicate endo, but like another poster said it can't be diagnosed without a laparoscopy. Are you having any other symptoms? (Anything I mentioned above, pain during sex, a lot of spotting, long periods, etc)? I didn't find a doctor that took my symptoms seriously until I went to a reproductive endocronologist for primary infertility (ttc about 4 years). He performed my surgery, diagnosed and treated the endo and I got pregnant just one cycle later with my little guy who's now 18 months old. :)

For anyone who suspects endo, I can't stress enough how important it is to find a qualified surgeon (preferably an RE) who will not only diagnose but treat the endo if possible, particularly if your goal is fertility rather than pain management. While there is some debate about this, my dr. excised the endometrial adhesions (cut with a scalpel, basically) rather than using a laser. I've read and heard that this is more effective at keeping the endo at bay longer (endo likes to come back, unfortunately). :(

CMarie102,

I had a lap last July and had my endo lasered. 5 days later my pain was back. Have just seen an endo specialist and he's going to do another lap in 2 weeks and use excision to get rid this time.

Sugar and anyone else on clomid, I really would advise not taking it if you can. I took clomid for 3 months and my pains were horrendous. Some people aren't too bad on it, but I'm defo not having any more!

Very sorry to hear about your pain coming back. I remember the only period I had post-lap was extremely painful....probably due to the healing and all of that. Thankfully, after finally getting pregnant and going roughly a year w/out a period (due to bf and such) the pain is not nearly as severe anymore. It's kind of a catch-22. Pregnancy can actually really help endo (ease the pain, etc), but endo itself can impair fertility and make pregnancy more difficult to achieve.

Glad you found a specialist! Sorry you'll have to go through yet another surgery, but I know in my case it was actually a relief to have some answers.

Good luck to you!:flower:

Floofy funny you should say that my I'm on second cycle of clomid and getting horrible endo pains and backache. I'm only on cd 10, but I'm also spotting. I had a bit of pain last month about the same time, but not as bad as this month.

I really hope it isn't making the endo worse. I'm trying IVF anyway in June, so at least I'm not on it much longer.

My paion has been so bd i've been laying on the floor, up all night, in tears... Dr gave me strong pain killers, but wonder if there is a deep down problem, i guess the only way i will find out is to keep waiting on the nhs for the tests, they do them one at atime in my area with 3 month wait inbetween next one is in June.

Thanks all of you for sharing and really hope you all get positive outcomes :-)

Sugar, my second month was definitely worse on clomid. My gyno said it shouldn't have caused me that much pain, but it definitely did. :growlmad:

What days were you getting the pain on floofy? My fs said clomid is not always the best treatment for endo as it can make it worse :-(

Sugar, I get pain on most days of the month, but it's always worse between Ov and AF. Progressively worse each day until it arrives. This month the pain kept on going. I stopped clomid last month. I remember my second month that the pain was horrendous in the week leading up to AF. My FS warned me about it getting worse on clomid but said it was my choice. Endo specialist I've just seen said it really shouldn't be that bad.

I didn't think the pain was worth it, well not until I've had another lap and they've seen what's going on in there. GL x
