Call me Crazy but i thought Tanning beds were a No. No. during pregnancy!? bc this girl is like 14weeks pregnant and is going TANNING! :dohh: is it okay to go to a tanning bed being pregnant? she very careless about her pregnancy and has done other things to out her baby at risk and doest seem to care :nope: but i just wanna know if its perfectly safe to go in a tanning bed while pregnant?

they dont really know tbh, there could be a link between the break down of folic acid and the strong rays

honestly though i wouldnt even use one when not preg

see i thought tanning beds are TOO HOT for the babies bc ur not even allowed to take Hot bath while being pregnant.

i thort they were no harm to baby more yourself skin burns more easily n reacts different went pregnant u wouldnt wanna end up wiv patchy tan or sunburn or that brown pigmation some pregnant women get :-(

its stupid that people go on sunbeds when pregnant! even though theres no evidence that it harms your baby, doesnt mean its ok. you just wouldnt do it, in no way can it be any good for the baby and its just abit selfish i think. xxx

it is. i know her and she is SUPER selfish she has done some pretty careless things since finding out shes pregnant :(

deary me! and theres so many people out there TTC and some people who are pregnant just take it for granted (not talking about anyone on here :) ) she should realise how lucky she is thats shes going to have a child, something she can cherish for the rest of her life. x

i hope so i love my bean and stay away FROM every thing bad and i take my FA everyday! lol i know my babies a girt from god! i really hope her mothering kicks in soon

ahww bet your so excited! congratulations by the way! :flower: im sure it will, i hope it does :) xx

Thanks! yes we've been wanting this little baby for a long time! he was def worth the wait!!!!!!!!!:happydance: and the MS! hahaha im ready to see him!

EDIT ur baby is too cute look AT the smile! shes ALL CHEEKS! :D

I think tanning beds are stupid, period. But that's just me.

They are not recommended prior to 12 weeks due to the possible link between UV rays and the breakdown of folic acid (after 12 weeks the neural tube is completed so you don't need the folic acid as much as you did).

There is also the fact that your skin can react very differently to sunlight (UV) in pregnancy, resulting in sun burn, irregular marks, or even linea nigra developing.

She would be most un impressed to walk out with random dark splodges on her face, especially if they then won't fade till a few months after the birth. That usually stops most women from going.

They won't even let pregnant women, regardless of how far along you are, in tanning beds in the salons here. I don't use tanning beds even when not pregnant, and I sure wouldn't do it while pregnant.

yea its not allow here at most places.buts she so thin that shes not showing yet even tho she 15weeks

I wouldn't have thought so, as you say hot baths aren't recommended and when I went on holiday there were big signs on the jacuzzi and steam room etc saying they shouldn't be used in pregnancy so I would imagine it would be just as bad using a sunbed

I don't see why people would risk it personally just for a tan, but then I wouldn't use one regardless of pregnancy either!

I thought it was something do with the temperature of the baby too
if it's not reccomended to take hot baths then i cant see a sun bed doing any good at all
I dont see why you wouldnt just give these things up for 9 months

Totally agree with you hun, I would never go on a sunbed whilst pregnant either xx

i think it's the overheating that is dangerous.
