Hello everyone

I just have a quick question. I was on maternity from August to May this year. I received my P60 from work which showed my SMP. Is this taken into consideration as my income, or is it like tax credits where you don't have to declare the 1st £100 a week? I'm confused

If I deduct my maternity then it brings my salary under the tax threshold which may mean I'm due a tax rebate as I paid nearly £700 last year. Has anyone any advice or been through this?

Thanks Jo

I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty certain it is taken as earning for tax and NI purposes. Have you checked out direct.gov.uk?
