Taxing A Car - HELP!!!

Hello,

Can you tax a car with out the reminder letter?

Ive lost my letter and im gonna be going to the post office to tax it tomorrow but i have no reminder letter, ive no clue what ive done with it.

Can i still tax it with my V5, MOT and insurance documents?

Yes u can!take registration certificate MOT and insurance to the post office or you can do it online!

My tax discs ends today so i need to go to the post office rather than online, as that will mean no tax disc on my car for up to 5 days whilst i wait for it in the post.

As long as you've bought the tax online, it'll show on the system so you won't get done for not showing it.

as long as its paid for they cant do you for not displaying a tax disc as long as its in the post.. my mums cousin (treat her like ym auntie though) is a police officer and she said you actually have up to 10 days after your tax has expried to display your new disc x

Thanks guys - I drove to work this morning feeling a bit anxious about not having an in date tax disc, but thats taken the worry away a little.

I did exactly this yesterday! Completely lost the letter which was pinned on my noticeboard so took v5 form along instead..all was fine..only ive forgotten to put the new disc in and now oh has taken the car out! X
