Telling my boss... stories, help?

Hi!

I'm telling my boss tomorrow. I'll be 12w5days, and I definitely think it's better I tell him before I start to show. And then I'll make it public, cause so far only really close friends and family know.

I'm SOOO nervous though! I've only been at my work 11 months, and I'm supposed to get an evaluation after one year to see if they want to "keep me"... so it sucks (for them ) that now, whether they like me or not, they're stuck with me!

Anyone have any stories of how they told their boss? What should I say?

I would say dont overthink it. I told my last boss when I was pregnant with my daughter, and I had gone over the scenerio a million times to the point that I was terrified, and literally shaking (she was a very mean lady, so I was scared of her all the time). I think if I hadnt thought about it so much, I wouldnt have been worked up.

do you have a plan for after you have your baby? They might want to talk about that, so I'd be prepared!

I just started my job less than two months ago, so I really don't want to say anything until I'm about to start showing. Plus I am putting in for a better position (more hours, higher pay) at the same branch, so I am worried that if I tell them that I'm pregnant, they won't even consider me. I plan to be a stay at home mom after the baby comes, but I really need to make some money in the meantime. I HATE lying, and it sucks to have to keep my pregnancy a secret, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

I have only been in my job for two months to but will tell my boss after my official 12 week scan. My situation is slightly different as i am a nanny and work quite closely with the parents and am dreading it. Even though she is lovely and is hr manager for a big company. I wont qualify for maternity pay as i have not been here long enough.
As has already been said i wouldnt worry about it too much as you dont want to stress yourself out.
