Normally I wouldn't have an issue with letting my work know. Except I just got this job about a month ago. I am 20 weeks ( I am bigger so its a little harder to tell I am pregnant but its getting to the point now where I know they are thinking something is up.) I am not trying to be dishonest with anyone but I am worried they will be mad at me for taking the job when I already knew I was pregnant if that makes sense.

I am not exactly sure how to tell my manager. On Friday told one of my co-workers and she said not to worry about it because our manager isn't the type to get upset or anything. I just don't really know her all that well and with my 6 month probation period not ending until a month after I have the baby I am worried. Any one have any advice.

It's up to you reallt, you could tell them as late as possible, if you're in the uk it should say on the direct gov website how late you can leave it to tell them. If you're worried that they'd be mad at you then you can always say you found out after you took the job but legally they aren't allowed to treat you negatively because you're pregnant as it counts as sex discrimination.

you need to tell them by 25 weeks
:hugs:

I was really worried about telling too as i was still on matty leave lol. But my manager was so lovely about it i was really surpriused. I'm sure she really felt a bit put out as its hassle for them from a job point of view but they havent treated me any diffrently since finding out.

Hope it goes well for you

Today I got up the nerve to tell my work. It went very well. My supervisor was really happy for me and talked about pregnancy a bit. Then told me how to get the forms for family leave and all that. I don't get the FMLA because I haven't been here a year yet but I get some state maternity leave and stuff like that. I am glad that I told her because it is a huge stress off my back. She also told me some paperwork to fill out and to get into HR so that if I have to go on any emergency leave that my job will be protected. So all in all it went well.
