Hi ladies, this is probably nothing and to be honest i am not that worried, i was just wondering if anyone had any idea as to why its happening. i am waking up about four times in the night for a wee now :)shrug:) but every time i go to get up my tummy feels really tender, not painful, just tender. i dont seem to get this throughout the day much (unless i am squashing my bump maybe by putting my shoes on or something). i have always slept on my front and now i am trying to sleep more on my side but maybe i am squashing the bump a bit. is this not good?? what do you ladies think? and how are you sleeping? thanks in advance :hugs: xx

I'm the same too.. it always seems a lot more tender and uncomfortable in the evening esp when i go to bed and when i wake up but during the day its not so bad.. not sure why either.. i know its not much help for you but at least your not alone! X

Hi!

I think it's normal.. occasionally my bump is tender (like you said not painful, just a bit sore)at night, particularly if Ive been standing up or walking around alot throughout the day! I think it's just all the stretching and pressure. Check with your midwife if you are really worried but I am pretty sure it's nothing to worry about! x

Oh and I forgot to mention.... as for sleeping... I tend to try to go to sleep on my left side, which is apparantly best for baby, but I often find myself waking up on my back. It helps if I support my bump with a pillow, another between my legs and also put a pillow behind my back to stop me from rolling back! I have a pregnancy support pillow too which really helps. Like you, I also worry that Ill squash my bump, but the baby is well protected. As it's recommended that we sleep on out sides, I don't think that this is anything to worry about! :) x:thumbup:

I get a tender tummy at night too.

Sleeping on my side is alien to me, and often I wake (well, about 6 times a night to go to the loo) leaning over just a little too much. Not on my tummy but not on my side either. And sometimes I have lifted my leg to far up towards my chest (squashing bump a bit)

I also sleep with pillows supporting the bump and between the legs and against my back too. I sleep in a veritable nest of pillows, my OH can't get near me lol x

Mine is the same. I feel very uncomfortable if I fall asleep and then get up to go to the loo. Once I've gotten up I'm so "tender" I find it hard to fall back to sleep.

The other day I turned onto my side in the morning at about 6am and I screamed in pain, I'd leant on the baby and it REALLY hurt me. The things we go through! ;-)

I think this is normal.
I experience it too. Its especially tender first thing when i wake up in the morning or like you said, when you wake up through the night to go pee. I find that I sleep more comfy on my right hand side as sleeping on my left causes a horrible pain in the left side of my pelvis which has made me dive out of bed before now lol x
