HaS anyone hired a tens machine ? I so where from and when did you put your order in? In almost 36 weeks so think I need I do it sooner rather than later!

I've had a look on amazon and I could buy one for around £30. Do the machines differ?! Are some
More effective than others?

I ordered a mama tens from amazon and it was fantastic. I used that at home and when I went into hospital I was 5cm. I only stopped using it because I dropped it in the floor just after I arrived and it broke so I went on to have a water birth instead. I'd highly recommend using a tens machine, gives you some control and something to focus on. No idea about any.others but if you do get this one, be careful of the neck strap as that's what failed on mine and it fell to floor

Good question - I'll be watching this.
Last time I borrowed one off a friend and it was great - it got me to 7 cm. This time I'm considering whether to hire or buy. ATM I think hiring looks more money friendly as even if I sell one on, I think I'll lose as much money as if I had hired one.
Rx

Best thing I bought I recommend it to anyone pregnant, used mine for 2 days prior to actual labour and right up until I pushed, I had a boost button to best thing I recon hehe
I bought it off eBay £7 odd

I have borrowed one from the physio dept of the hospital for free. I just have to take it with me when in labour and they'll come and collect it. So check with your hospitals ladies before you pay for one in case they do this as well.

I hired a Mamatens from Tesco it was £27 and you can have it a month before due date and a month after. It was an afterthought for me but an absolute godsend as i ended up having nothing but that for the whole labour!

I strongly recommend getting one approved for the purpose of labour rather than just an ordinary tens.

:flower:

May I ask a silly question- what is a tens machine and what does it do?

I gather its for use during labour
