I think I am having another chemical. I had one a few months before I fell pregnant with my daughter, and also had one last year, but it was different to this because I was completely asymptomatic both times.

I have had several symptoms for the last week or so, and increasingly bad period pain since about a week ago. I was due on either Monday or Tuesday and still hadn't come on yesterday afternoon. As I felt tired, which was my first definite sign with my first child, I got some tests while I was in a shop for something else.

I bought a pack of Sainsbury's own and a clearblue. The Sainsbury's tests both showed a v faint positive when I took them at about 3pm yesterday. I went out for some pink dye tests since I rarely trust blue dye, and when I got back there was an evap line on the clearblue but that had not been positive when I left.

I put an frer and a superdrug test in the same urine I had used for the other tests, and both came up with v faint lines within the time frame.

I then did another one of each test (superdrug and frer - superdrug being the more sensitive test) at about 6pm and both had the same v faint lines. I then did another frer last night about 11pm and it was again a v faint line. I then did a superdrug and an frer when I woke up with fmu, and while there was a faint line on the superdrug I couldn't make out the line on the frer within the timeframe. The control line was lighter than previous tests, so I assumed it was due to the dye. So I just took another superdrug and frer at about 230pm, which would be second wee of the day, and there were lines on both within the time frame but they are as faint as they were yesterday.

I still have period cramps, plus I have other twinges going on and loads of discharge, some of which is yellow jelly stuff like I had with my daughter, some is clear watery and some is tinged watery. My breast tenderness seems to have gone but they are still veiny and feel heavy. I feel tired and sometimes light headed. I have had some waves of nausea but nothing to speak of today. Earlier in the 2ww I was also leaking milk quite a bit - I dried up a few months ago after stopping breastfeeding at 16ish months.

I have convinced myself this is a chemical as I am now 1 day late and line not getting any darker, even with fmu. I will not test again now until tomorrow morning, by which time I will probably have my period. I had my final clearblue digi smiley face on cd14 at about 1030pm, so I think I ovulated early on cd15, which would mean I am 14-15dpo today,so the lines should be getting really dark now. I got my positive with my daughter, at 14dpo at 2pm and it was really strong!

First off, i always have ovulated 2 days after getting a smiley face so you very well can be off a day or two with yours. If i am getting this right you took quite a few tests with the same urine so none of those should have gotten darker. And you tested very soon after you tested a couple of times. Let it be for a couple days and test again. Let your levels raise a bit! I tested with my last baby and it was CRAZY i test from 9-11 dpo with pink and blue dye tests and all my lines kept vanishing. I didnt know what to think and was freaking out. I waited to test until 12dpo after none and got a faint line that stayed. Took a test at 13dpo fmu and it was lighter than tgd day before. Freaked out more! took my last frer at 14 dpo and it was darker than the two previous tests. Just stay positive. If you are just using opks and not charting then you can be off a couple of days!

I wouldn't say you're having a chemical because with chemicals you usually go on to have period on time! I just think you haven't given your levels time to spike yet, they usually spike a little after your period is due, some women don't even get a positive pregnancy test til 5 weeks! So I wouldn't worry so much right now if I were you!

I've just it my :bfp: and AF was a day late!
I got really feint on anything but FRER and it showed nice and clear with afternoon pee too!
Good luck hope it's a :bfp: for you! :dust:

I think you are testing too often. They say first wee of the day. You got a positive so best to leave it a couple of days and try again. Also I was due on the Tuesday. Always had 28 day cycles although never bothered to check ovulation ect. So I tests Wednesday afternoon and negative but Thursday morning very faint positive. So 2 days late. My tests got darker over 2 weeks but never darker than control. I stopped testing as saw no point. Any ways had my scan at 11 weeks and baby fine although they put me back 4 days. So I actually got my bfp at 3+5 not 4+2 going on my lmp. So anyways just to say give it sometime. X

Thank you ladies.

I think you are right, I am testing too often and hcg supposedly only doubles every 48 hours. However, I was worried as one of the tests is 10miu sensitivity and being a day late I though the hcg should be up to about 100 by now. I should stop comparing to my first pregnancy as well.

I am going on the fact I am now nearly 2 days late, and until the witch shows her head, the bfp should still stand. A line is a line and anything can affect hcg concentration, so I will just sit tight and see. x

It took my tests 5 days to get noticeably darker hun ....yet with my son were super dark.....things are just different with each one...

Congratulations....x

I wanted to see my lines get darker so I bought the same brand test so I could watch the line get progressivly darker. The thing I noticed was with me it took two days for it to get darker. So I stopped testing when my line was darker then the control line. I've had a couple chemicals years ago and I was worried like you.

Congratulations. I would not worry too much at around 15dpo about the line colour. Do not forget the saying 'a line is a line'.

However, I was worried as one of the tests is 10miu sensitivity and being a day late I though the hcg should be up to about 100 by now.

I never get strong line on the 10miu tests. I have read online that this is quite common with internet cheepies though.

Same!! I got a squinty line on ICs but a nice pink line on a FRER.... I think they jut aren't as good tbh.
Try not to worry too much and try not to test every day x

I agree with all the other ladies - you're testing too often. Try test every second day with FMU. I tested daily with FMU and couldn't really see a big difference but every 2 days, the difference is noticeable. Don't worry too much. I'm sure it is all fine. H&H 9 months. x
