My main view on this is that the government are hypocritical on their approach to drugs. Alcohol in my opinion is one of THE most dangerous drugs and causes the most trouble and wastes the most money (thinking about help for alcoholics on the NHS, police resources dealing with the fallout of people being drunk and disorderly etc) yet it is easily taxable and controlled so it's OK.
I can't actually think of one credible reason why cannabis is not legalized apart from the fact that it can't be controlled as it's so easy to produce therefore difficult to tax. It never killed anyone (alcohol kills thousands) it doesn't cause people to be disorderly, and the only reason it uses up police time and resources is because of the very fact that it is illegal, not for any secondary reason. I know plenty of respectable people who have families and hold down jobs and are thoroughly lovely people who unwind at night with a joint instead of a glass of wine. I can't see the problem, seriously I cant?
Not so sure about MDMA except that it would reduce the risks in ingesting the drug when you don't know what it's been cut with.
