Hi Faye :flower:

Love the story! I always get the giggles in the bedroom - OH is used to it now and just carries on regardless lol.

I just wrote a huge reply about how many pages I had left to do but accidentally hit the back button and lost it all! Soooo annoying. So I shall try a shorter version now!!

Those pages are from an album for step-dad's 40th bday in August. Mum is paying for all the papers etc so I get to splash out a little :haha: It's supposed to be a kind of this is your life kind of thing. Lots more pages to put in, ranging from his birth (born at home before the midwife arrived!), to that of his 3 children, school photos and report snippets, old family holidays, story of how him and my mum met, some bio on his band Salacious crumb, newer family holidays, pictures of grandparents... and so on, you get the idea. I reckon I'll probably have aboout another 20 odd pages to churn out, but time may dictat less.

On top of that, by October I want to have finished Mum and his wedding album for their 1st anniversary, by Feb I want to have finished our friends bday album from his 21st, and then I have several ongoing ones for me and Dan. And when I get preggers I want to start an amazing pregnancy scrapbook. Can't wait to get that one underway! :cloud9: It's all really time consuming, but I really enjoy it, as it's so nice to look back on afterwards x x x

ooh sounds great x i will be taking more bump pics this time around. Sounds like you will be busy with them then xnot long till you finish your pill x

Ooooo a scrap book through pregnancy sound like an amazing idea I might steal that one lol.I do like doing crafty things I just never get the time!!this weekend is the first time I have had some time to myself in ages and I'm a but lost lol. Twiddling my thumbs a little.

It's quiet on here this weekend :( is everyone busy?? I was a bit dissapointed yesterday with the England match I had expected a win to be honest but at least it was a draw!!

Right I'll go and busy myself lol

xx

just thought i would let you all know that fuffy is really busy right now and she wanted me to appolagise for her absence and she will be back with us all sooooon xx

That's the reason I took it up as a hobby LH, was at a total loss for what to do with myself last summer while OH was at work/gym. I'm generally not that good at making things for myself though for some reason, so so far, all of them have been for other people! Once I get to do a preggers one though, I think that will be a nice one for me to keep.

Only 8 pills left to pop! So excited! That means that from then, it's entirely possible that we could actually make a baby! Seems like such huuuuuge step in the right direction. Then all I'll need is a job and there will be nothing stopping me! Well, apart from condoms, but I don't have much faith in Dan's ability to remember them for the next 4 months LMAO.

Got into a bit of a row with a good friend of mine yesterday. Her OH told us a labour party based "joke" (it wasn't actually at all funny, but sparked a debate.) I sais that I like the idea of meritocracy, because I have worked hard at uni and should be rewarded for having done so when I get a job, rather than having to go back to an unskilled job like McDonalds. She took it the wrong way, and accused me of saying that I was better than her and that's why I should be paid more money! All I was trying to get across is that I think, personally, the more qualifications you have, the more employable you should be, and so the higher salary you should be able to command. It doesn't matter whether you have got them from uni or through working up in a company, if you have worked hard you should be rewarded. To that, she replied that she works just as hard as me (which I wasn't questioning!) so why should I get paid more? I felt soooo demonised! It was like she was saying I should be penalised for bothering to go uni... not what I wanted to hear when I regret it enough as it is!

Please be honest with me ladies! Was I being out of line, or was she being over sensitive? I just don't see why after all the effort I have put into getting my degree etc, I should remain on a par with my McDonalds ex-colleauges! x x

Ok, my opinion on this is...just my opinion by the way.

You have both worked equally as hard, you in a classroom and her in the workplace, it doesn't mean either of you are better than the other and it doesn't mean either of you are entitled to a higher wage.
Whether you go to universty or not, if you work hard you deserve to reap the rewards.

Which is exactly what I was trying to tell her, but she just kept saying "You're not better than me" over and over again, and not listening to a word I was saying. To me, that doesn't say she thinks we are equal, but that she is better.

I agree completely, that working hard in either arena should allow you to reap awards, but I know that she doesn't really work that hard, as many a time I have sat at her work with her while she did nothing and gossiped lol.

What riled me most about it, was that the previous week when I had been talking to her about getting a job outside of the whole "politics" thing that went on last night, she was like "Oh, yes, you should be paid much more than that." I think, and again, this is opinion only, that people that work hard, no matter what they are working hard at, should be rewarded. But at the same time, there should be more reward for doing certain things that the consensus says are "harder" or contribute more for society. She's a nail technician - I'm sure if I had suggested to her that she should be lower paid than, for example, a doctor, she would have agreed. I'm not just necessarily saying that I shoud be paid more than her for what she does, but that there are a lot of other professions that are paid on a similar level to her that should get more - carers for example. IMO, a carers work is "worth" more than a nail technicians in that it provides something so much more worthwhile so society, and it is arguably much more hard work! Oh, and to put things into a little more perspective, this is the same girl who doesn't think that being a SAHM/D is a valid/sensible/worthwhile choice for any parent, and that generally SAHMs are lazy :dohh:

I hope that all makes sense. But anyway, whenever I come out with a rant on here it goes quiet LOL maybe because I am a minority? Never mind! Well used to that by now :haha::haha:

On a lighter note, going to see Prince of Persia tonight. Jake Glyenhall can have me as his Princess of Persia anyday!!! Hope you have all had a good weekend x x x

I love jake gylenhall to he is lush... loved him since jarhead!!

I agree with what Ley said.

I am just finishing up my packing!

Had a dream I got my BFP last night! Argh.

fx'd for youe becca. if i dont get on again, hope you have great holiday and birthday and bring us back some bfp news xx
Ive just been to moms and dads today.Aww i wish i lived closer to them. my mom is getting upset because she thinks it wont be long till my brother has left home and the house will only be my mom and dad .Im seeing her again in town wednesday so that will be good.
The weather is horrible. I have offically started my diet today and done well so far . just got to put wii in the bedroom so i can do something on there.
Hope everyone is ok x

I agree that hard work deserves rewards. Not nessiseraly (sp???) if you go to uni though.I left school at 16 and went to college and did accounting,I then went to uni 1 day a week whilst working to achieve what I have. I think I deserve to be paid more than those who left school and did nothing. I know people that went to uni and did a degree just to waste a few years and are now off travelling because they still have no idea what they want to do. I don't think they deserve great pay just because they went to uni just to not got to work. Am I making sense?! Lol.

Oooo mag a BFP dream is gooooooood!! When I got my bfp I saw a reg plate that said BFP and I wondered if it was a sign and then I got a BFP lol maybe just a coincidence lol but made me smile.

Can't keep my eyes open right now,iv hardly done anything today how the hell can I b tiered?!

Yes LH that makes absolute sense and I completely agree. I have a friend that went to uni purely because that is what her (very well off) parents expected of her. She has no intention of ever using her degree - she wants to be a "kept woman" just like her mother was... if only we all had that luxury! In my experience though, people like that do not work as hard for their degree as others that actually intend to use it. I worked my arse off for mine. And, as your uni course was directly related to what you were doing, I'm sure you can relate to that. I just wish I had had the sense to do something more vocational! Hindsight is an unfortunate blessing.

What really gives me a bee in my bonnet about all this though, is the way you are almost coerced into going into uni at what I think is a rather impressionable age, by the promise of a higher earnng potential that isn't neccessarily there  I'm just fed up of struggling.

How can LH be soooooo tired.... hmmm, can that not be one of the super-super-super early preggers signs?? :haha: hmmmm mebbe too early, but hey! We had DJ puking a few days post-ov! :happydance: PMA PMA PMA :happydance:

Becca... I have loved Jake Gylenhall since forever. Donnie Darko was the first thing I saw him in, I think. Total man of my dreams. Well... one of them  I could reel off a list but it would take aaaaaages!

Ta ta all x x x x

Maybe you are tired from all the :sex: LH!! Ov can be tiring you know!

I agree with LH about the whole jobs thing Leah, I think I was lucky to walk straight into a grad job and I know a lot of people who are struggling! You will find something soon I'm sure :hugs:

PMA all the way LH, I'm excited for you to get to the end of your 2WW!!! :D xx

Morning people :)
