The Shettles Method.... Success or not?

So for a boy the shettles method has said to have intercourse at ovulation and after and use deep penetration and the woman to orgasm before the man. We did this and we got our first child.. our son Louis.

For a girl the shettles method recommends to have intercourse 2-3 days BEFORE ovulation right after your period and use shallow penetration and for the woman NOT to orgasm.

Here's what my hubby and I did:

The first day of my last period was Oct. 18th. Now I have a 28 day cycle so I would've ovulated I believe on Oct. 31st which was cycle day 14. Hubby and I had sex Oct. 24, 26, 27, and 28th. We stopped after that. I felt cramps on Oct. 30th, 31st, and Nov. 1st. We used the the Shettles method for a girl so i did not orgasm and we used the missionary position.

Sure enough... on Nov. 14th I got my !!!!

Now my question is, Since I did this theory... do you think my chances of concieving a girl are higher then a boy??? And Has anyone done this before?? Did it work for you??

I wld say not lol! haha! But that's my opinion, i don't think things work for either sex, iykwim.

I dont know never heard of this , although when u say u got bfp 14th oct do u mean thats your lmp ? or is your ticker wrong ?

Im sorry I haven't heard of this either but am now intrigued, the only thin I've read and don't know wether to believe is that if the sperm count is low its more likely a girl and higher its a boy but I think its all random but who knows. Congratulations and take care XX

Its this the one based on the fact that male spermies die quickly but swim fast so they will be first to the egg if its there ready but would die waiting if its not there?

And girl spermies swim slow but live longer so can wait ages for the egg to be released but would loose a race if the eggs there ready?

If it is then ive read really good things about it and it is meant to work well but only if you can accurately guarantee down to the last hour when the egg was released.

I have heard that about the days, for example if you bd'd on ovulation day = boy, before or after = girl. If that's the case, we have a girl but who knows. Can't wait!

I have heard of this but I have no idea if it will work? It will be intresting to see if it does tho. It has something to do with how long the male and female sperm live for I think xxxx

We didn't deliberately use this method, but were using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor and on the month we conceived only had sex on the day I ovulated. Sure enough we're having a little boy - we weren't actually bothered about hte sex of the baby just trying to get pregnant.

However, I guess you have to be pretty sure when you actually ovulated, I always presumed it was on day 14 of my cycle but when I started to use my monitor I noticed it was actually day 17. Hope you get what you want, but I'm not sure I'd set my heart on it if I were you.

definatley know at least 2 peope this has worked for who used this method, so sounds positive!!,
we followed chinese birth chart to get our girl and boy! but know lots who it didn't work for!!

I did this with my first and it was RIGHT!! you can do it as early as 10 weeks!! So we'll see!!!.. I'm going to buy it now!!

Also...my doctor has a book that she used to concieve a girl and also i asked her about the shelttes method if it works...she said that is what they did! they have a boy and a girl. She said to make sure you know when you ovulate (as best as you can) and its pretty accurate.

Girl sperm live longer but also take longer to swim, so its good to have sex two to three days before ovulation and thats it. Also when you start to get ewcm you should stop after the first day.
Boy sperm die quicker but also swim faster, so its good to have sex the day before and the day after ovulation!

Postions for girl~ missionary is best with less penetration and no women orgasm.(like you said)
Postions for boy~doggie style and with deep penetration and women orgasm(again like you said.)

I've been told that concieving a girl may take longer b/c you furthest away from O and you may not have sperm left when the egg is released.

one other point to mention..is acidic is ideal for girls..and not for boys!

That is the EXACT method we used to concieve a girl and we had sex 3 days before I ovulated and used the missionary position AND I did NOT have an orgasm. Soo.. we will see!!!! I will def. keep you posted!!! i hope we got her!!!

You can go to their website and buy it online. Yes I did it with my first and it WAS RIGHT!!!! They have a success rate of 90% !
