ok so we have started to look at prams and have decided we want one that goes from newborn to as old as we can, we also want one where the car seat can be used on it for convenience in a rush. We've narrowed it down to two The silver Cross Surf and The Bugaboo Bee.

I was very much sold on the Silver Cross until we went to john Lewis and the sales man there went through all of them with us and suggested the bugaboo would be better. It is lighter which is good as I’d have to carry the pram and baby up and down a flight of stairs every time I left my flat, he also said it was better quality. The silver cross however does look nicer and also has the added bonus of having it's own car seat that matches that fits on, with the bugaboo you have to us the maxi-cosi one and buy adaptors, It also looks better for the baby as I'm not sure I like the cocoon with the bugaboo as I’m worried the baby would get to hot as we go into summer (I'm due beginning of march) I’ve been researching both today and both seem completely in line with each other and seem to have equal fans on both side.

Has anyone else looked at these or brought and have any advise? I need help!!

hi, well my choices where the bugaboo cameleon or the surf, and we went to mothercare to test them out, and the cam one! its turning and steering is second to none! :happydance:

we've looked at the Cameleon and my OH loves it but we don't need the off road perks it comes with and the compact of the bee seemed more suited to our situation. The Cam is also bulky and i'd need to carry it all up and down to our flat every time i needed used it as we have no storage on the ground floor and we live on the first floor with no lift. We still don't know whats best lol. Thanks for the input though, I can see why you went for the Cam it is lovely. What colour did you get it in?

i went for the bee cos it was recommended to me and its been brill, very easy to manage, easy to get in the boot and lift etc, i also was on a first floor flat until last week. The adapter/ maxi cosi thing is easy but i dont know about cost comparison. Agreed though she does get too hot in the cocoon in this warm autumn we're having in the UK. x

My friend has the surf and I love it as a pram/pushchair, the only downside was the brakes were faulty so she had to send it back and got a new one, this ones been fine though since, the basket is very small to xx

Thanks Ladies. We're still so unsure, I'm glad i have a few months left to decide. Always good to hear what people think but it seems very equal when it comes to people liking or having each one. Maybe i should go for something completely different lol.

Ri-Bena – My babies due in march so will be in the cocoon up till about august time. I'm just worried if we have a nice early summer he/she will boil :(

My friend's got the surf, the basket is very small. I had a sc 3d and it was very heavy, not sure if the surf is the same?

i have the bee and would recommend for all the same reasons stated above x

Mrs Poodle - the surf is lighter than the 3d, and we thought it was quite light, Until we felt the Bee lol. The trouble with the surf is that you have to take it apart every time to fold it up which makes it seem heavier to carry i think.

yeah april this yr was mega warm so i would worry about your LO getting too hot in the cocoon xx
