It's a little early for my partner and I to be thinking about names, but we have anyway :) We like Keira Grace for a girl. The story behind the name is that my mum had a beautiful baby girl 10 years ago in January but unfortunately she lost her due to her being very poorly My sister was called Keira and I'm due on her birthday, January 19th. Strange, spooky, amazing, all of those things but as long as our baby is healthy we are very happy :) x

I think it is a lovely name and a really nice way to honor your sister. I'm sorry for your loss x

Thats a lovely way to remember your sister. :hugs:. xx

I think thats a lovely name :)

Im sure your mum would be very touched if you explained about naming your daughter after your sister.

I would deffinatly mention it to her though just in case she perhaps would prefer you to use it as a middle name and keep it as a 1st name for just your sister.

She may love the idea but i always feel that with losing a child lots of people think differently and some prefer things to be kept just for their angel so i would just mention it to be sure :)

Its a beautiful name though and a great tribute to your angel sister :)

That's really lovely, Keira Grace is a beautiful combination I think too. Congrats, I hope you go with it :-)

I definitely think you should talk to your mom about it first, too. A friend of mine was planning to name her son after her brother who recently passed & was shocked when her mom said "no way!" People have different feelings about things like that....

It's a beautiful name though! Congrats! :hugs:

I spoke to my mum about it a few months back and she said she would love for our baby to be named after my sister, I can understand that people would feel differently about it but my mum would be very touched I think :) Thank you for all the lovely things everybody said :D x

We chose Haley Ann for our LO, I've always loved the name Haley (although when I fell in love with the name the spelling was Hayleigh...but I'm a simple kind of gal and we shortened it) and Ann is after my hubby's mom who passed in Nov 2007

My baby girl's name is Jessica Rian Leah. Jessica after my Mom and Grandmother, Rian..just because I loved it and Leah after DH's sister who passed away at 16 from a car accident. We asked DH's mother about using Leah's name and she thought it was a lovely gesture to honour his sister.

Both names are lovely, I think it is a very nice way to honour people who have passed away x
