The Ultimate "Driving Test" Thread!

Thanks but i reallly dont want to go through a test ever again, i seriously cant handle hearing ive failed for a fourth time, just feel like i can drive, each fail i ge are so close but i think someting will always get in the way on the day  my instrictor really isnt being great about it, he was trying to make me feel better by saying that was so close and if you had only blahblah it makes me wanna throw myself under a bus

Oh no, Kiki! I'm so sorry to hear that. What a silly thing to fail you on, the silliest thing I've heard of yet. Please don't give up. You're so so close xxx :hugs: xxx

Well...here goes for me. Officially booked up for my next time. 8th December at 8:20am. Oh god, I've got knots in my tummy already.

Kiki i cant believe they failed you on that!!! What a nob :( please dont give up though you can do it! Xxx

congrats on passing! :)

kiki, so sorry hun, when its so close it seems like such an injustice thats how i felt when they failed me with 1 major and 1 minor she even said she was 'gutted' to fail me, it just seems so unfair :( do you feel youre being hesitant or are do you disagree with them marking so many as hesitance?? everyone judges differently xxx

Congratulations FsMummy. :) That's fab news.

Maybe take a little break to recharge your batteries and after Christmas and New Year, things might feel a bit better and you'll be up for trying again Kiki. :hugs: xxx

I went for a practice drive to Maidstone today, I have noticed that I'm definitely a lot more confident with my driving now, but I'm afraid I'm going to come across as too confident on my test. For eg. When I see a gap on roundabouts, part of me is saying, yeah that was good, but then the other part of me is worrying about my test and if I'd get marked down for going too soon or not.
I am so used to my car now, I'm also scared about driving in my instructors car but I'd rather use his car as it'll definitely be obvious I'm on a test with the car all logo'ed up with my driving school's name.

I'm probably being too fussy and should just drive like normal as I have been and what will be will be, but knowing how fussy they are, it's hard not to be equally as fussy back when they seem to want some crazy perfect way of driving.

Know what you mean, i toyed with the idea of doing the test in my own car, as it was the car i drove the most and felt showed my best abilities but like you say, its not always what they want to see somehow!![my car was quite nippy!!] Plus, theres other downsides like the expense of getting it test ready with extra mirrors and whatnot. I think it is good that youre feeling more confident though, hopefully it will calm your nerves more for your test xxx

Yesterday when I was driving on the dual carriageway, I was in the slow lane (left) and these cars were coming from the slip road to join up to the dual carriageway. Anyway, this car must have seen i was a learner driver and decided to be a total prick because she was level with me right near the end of the slip road and then she started honking her horn at me because she didn't have enough room to move out into the lane and then I had to move into the outside lane so she could join.

Who had right of way? I'm sure that given that I was already on the road, that I had right of way, I'd about 15 seconds before moved over to the left lane as a car wanted to go past me and was tail gating really close behind me and i thought it was safe to do so and she wasn't level with me til right at the end, she'd obviously sped up to be a total prick.

Leafy i kind of agreed i was being hesitant but i thought better that than to pull out coz it was loads of cars turning left but you never trust an indicator so i decided not to go but apparently body language of the car but its like, people change there minds, its happened to me countless times! and seeing s it was the ONLY thing she marked me for i cant believe she failed me on being too safe!
I was very pissed off with my instructor coz i told him 2 lessons before my test and the lesson before i needed to work on hesitance and all he said was
"just dont go til you know its safe but dont be hesitant.." i said that doesnt help so can we practice roundabouts and what the hell happened? every roundabout no cars were there :dohh: and the roundabouts that did have cars he tried talk me through it e.g.
"okay you can see that car is turning, go" but its like, i want to decide if i will go thanks!

Just wanted to let you all know I passed today

congratulations hun! such a good feeling isn't it :) bet you are so relieved xx

It was your right of way - if youre joining from the slip road its your job to filter in!!! What a stupid woman, its dangerous forcing someone else into the other lane to make way for you from the slip road! :growlmad:
That would have knocked my nerves! I agree that woman is a prick!!!

Congratulations Tasha! That's fab news.

Oooo my test is getting closer. Trying not to make a big thing of it. I've told people who I have told (only a couple of close friends) to not even wish me luck the night before, just don't even acknowledge it in the hope that if it's not made a big thing of, it's less pressure for me. Although I know I'm going to be bricking it for the sake of my dad, he's desperate for me to pass and I think he gets more exasperated than I do each time I fail.

What date is it again hun? Good luck! Try not too put too much pressure on yourself,i know its hard not to. Xxx

It's on the 8th hun! I keep having dreams that I've passed my driving test and then I wake up and realise I've not sat it yet and it makes me all deflated lol! Maybe it's a premonition eh? Here's hoping, ha! :D
