I'm a loner but I'm working on not being one because I don't want Joseph to grow up shy.

I can be outspoken on here but I find it hard to make friends because unless I have something I feel needs to be said I don't tend to start conversations or send messages.

I can sit with someone for ages happily not talking because there's nothing to say and then realise they've been in agonies wondering why I won't speak to them. It's not that I don't want to, I just haven't thought of anything.

And it's taken me over 30 years to realise that I don't need permission from other people to not be a loner or the quiet one, I've spent all that time waiting for someone to tell me it's okay to talk to someone or do something.

But I don't want Joseph to grow up like that, I want him to have the confidence to do whatever he wants and talk to whoever he likes.
