Some of the "older" generation would have dressed their little boys like that. My sister's OH's nan is always knitting flowery and glittery stuff for the boys, we asked my Nana about it (she's quite modern haha) and Nana said that in her days boys were dressed in cute flower, lacy stuff etc.!
