hi there ladies me and OH have been trying for 5 months now AF showed up yesterday after 2 weeks of strong symptoms i was really sure it was my month but nevermind.

Me and OH have decided to take it up to the next level we have been going with the relaxed NTNP but after this month iam thinking of trying OPK and i was hoping you girls could give me some advice??

Are all OPK the same?? i mean some are more expensive than others like clear blue and first response but someone told me they are mostly the same and i should go for the ones that give me the most tests for the cheapest price??

i was also told to test from CD 11? do you just keep testing till the lines are as dark as eachother then to stop testing is this all correct i dont want to do this wrong thats all

some advice would be great thank you in advance ladies :)

well i did use the cheap ov strips but i could never tell when i was ov and it was alway a guessing game , so i moved on to the clearblue digital ones and i love them i will start testing from cd 7 this mouth and the best thing you get a smiley face which you no you are ov and that i no guessing game
good luck

I've also been using the Clear Blue digi ones. You either get a happy face or not. I always though I ov'd on cd14, but it turns out that it's actually 17. Never would have known If I hadn't used them.

I use the Clear Blue Digital as well. Its nice and simple Smiley yes, Circle no. Plus when you pop the stick out you still see the lines that the cheaper sticks have...so as you get closer to your O date it gets darker. What I did this cycle is as I saw the line get darker, I would start testing twice a day so i wont miss my surge. Its well worth the money. I started testing CD 12.
Good luck!!

Thanks Stinas - I didn't even think of doing that. Will do this month.

I also use clear blue digital and love them! I used to use the cheap internet ones but like someone said, its mainly guessing. The smiley is great. I would start testing on cd 8 no matter what your cycle as im norm 28 days but ov'd on cd 10 this month! Wouldnt have know if it wasnt for the CB digi!
Good Luck!

YES, YES YES. The difference for me between using OPK and not using OPK was 4 days. Now unfortunately, with all the pressure of TTC, we gave it our all and got only a BFN everytime to show. Probably cos I thought I was ovulating when I really was not and never knew. :dohh: After using an OPK last month and this month, I am much more at ease about dates (although I thought I had it down to a T) That is a big positive. I now also am able for the first time to reckognise ovulation pain.

Personally, I found the Digital one very over priced and it did the same job as the others. And I did not enjoy waiting and seeing NOTHING at all. Jus that round circle. At least with the POAS ones, you can see the faint line coming. Get the ones with the most tests at the cheapest price.

Make sure you have plenty of stock. Nothing like running out!

Good luck and I think you are going in the right direction.

thank you ladies your advice has been great ive placed my order for my OPK yesterday and iam just waiting for them to arrive iam actually excited about TTC this month i feel like i wont be going in blind like i may have a bit more control to help me out.

its nice to feel excited about TTC again it was starting to get to me so i think iam moving in the right direction :)

recomend amazon for ovulation tests i brought 50 for bout 6 pound yesterday :)

Mabythistime - you can still see the faint line coming with the digital ones once you pop the stick out. They are overpriced, but they are on point....i guess its worth it in the end if you get your BFP.

ovulations tests are great but the cheap ones tend to be the best after clearblue i found, get some 25ium/ml ovulation tests and do them from about cycle day 9/10 until they get positive, i buy in bulk from online which i found was the best way the other thing you could try is a fertility monitor such as clearblue or persona which actually tells you the days your fertile and when your about to ovulate i use three different ovulation tests:

Cheap internet ones (use them the most)
Clear blue digital ovulation tests
Persona fertility monitor

also chart my temp, check my Cervical mucus and if my cervix is opened or not :D might help

check out the Egg meets sperm plan works for alot of ladies xx

Yes an opk is considered positive if the test line is as dark as the control line. I get my OPKs from early-pregnancy-tests.com .. they are very affordable and I've never had a problem with them. Lots of women on here use them. Very easy to read if you ask me

It's best to use those, and when you get a positive to follow up with a clear blue digi since the digis are so expensive. Kind of like you would a positive HPT.

Yes, they are great with that smiley face lol. I must admit, perhaps I was a bit harsh on them earlier. Its just that they are so expensive and after I realised that i needed to test a full 10 days+ and my budget went into a minus...lol...I hated them.:nope: I would rather say test with cheapies and when you get really dark, use the digi...:happydance: Cheap and you get yoru SMILY!
