This is completely TMI but I need to know....

Ok, so my CD1 was Dec. 26th and I'm currently on CD8 I believe. We have done the baby dance on CD7, CD11, CD12 and now CD14.

Our normal position that we seem to end up in is doggy style and I usually sit around for a couple minutes but not very long until I need to use the restroom. It seems like tons of little swimmers leave my body at that time, I'm curious though should I wait longer before I go? Would it make a difference?

Also, we ended up with me on top tonight and I'm worried that none of the guys made it with that position. Is it common to get pregnant by the women being on top? Or did I just make my chances worse and on top of that within minutes gone and used the restroom.

Sorry for the TMI, I'm just curious and I think I am ovulating because I noticed a bit of EWCM, though it wasn't much at all and while we did the baby dance, I stayed relatively dry. Not sure if I'm ovulating if that's the case either....I'm normally not dry during

You mentioned you are waiting for couple of minutes before using a restroom, how many minutes you meant? If you wait 10 to 15 minutes that would be enough for the sperm that is going to get into the cervix will be in the cervix. However, you don't need your feet in the air, just lay down there. Your pelvis does not move when you put your legs in the air. I also read “A woman should also try to keep still for about half an hour after sex. This will help encourage the cervical and vaginal muscles to relax and your cervical mucus will be able to flow better – thereby helping to transport the sperm.” Not sure about the science behind it but I hope it helps.

Standing, sitting, and any position with the woman on top can make it harder to get pregnant. Because, these positions cause semen to leak out of the vagina, meaning that less sperm will embark on the journey up to the egg. Hope it makes a sense.

It's only a couple minutes so at most like 5-10. It's almost habit for me to go and clean myself up afterwards. We're NTNP so I think he would look at me strange if I just decided to lay down afterwards for a half hour. Does it truly make that much of a difference though to lay around afterwards? I mean some little guys will always fall out but I read somewhere it just takes seconds from release for the to get to where they need to go.

It does make sense, thank you. I worry about that happening but with this whole NTNP I think I'm going to continue with whatever position we enjoy. I was debating it a lot but really I want this to be more fun than calculating what position to do to get pregnant. I mean either way some is getting in me, so that's all that matters right now. If we're still not pregnant in the next few months I might be more specific about how it happens.

something you and your DH can invest in is soft cups.. I love them!! After we are done BDing I stick one in and I can get up right away, pee right after etc. It doesn't bother me and I can't feel it when its in. They aren' t expensive at all.. It helps keep the boys inside past the cervix... GL to you!!

Honestly, I'd focus on doing what you enjoy rather than trying to force anything else. The fluid that leaves your body is just seminal fluid and has no real use once the semen are inside. There was a study into whether lying down after sex helped a woman to conceive, but the results weren't significant enough for them to say it definitely made a difference.

As for position, it really doesn't matter. The force that his semen enters you will be enough to get his sperm where they need to go.

Thanks everyone! I'm just nervous about it all and over analyzing everything I think. I'm going to try and relax more about it and let whatever happen, happen.

I'm not really sure if position makes any difference..It seems that no matter which position you end up in or how long you lay still, there is still leakage after. I have been ending up on my back with a pillow under my hips & stay that way for 20 minutes. I also put my legs up on the headboard after too, with my hips on a pillow & sometimes "bicycle" my legs, as I read that could help. It might look odd to him if he doesn't realize you're trying, but I think you could just lie flat for 15-20 minutes & I don't think that would be unrealistic after intercourse. I have also heard of the menstrual cup idea. I actually have one, but have never used one post bd, might be something you would want to try. I have a divacup, & it's so comfortable, however the reason I haven't tried it is because I'm afraid inserting it will cause spillage of the semen near the entrance.

Divacups, softcups etc won't make any difference. Neither will lying on your back & bicycling in the air. I'm sorry. The fluid that leaks out is simply seminal fluid & has absolutely no purpose once the sperm are in you. Holding the seminal fluid inside you for longer than it's designed to be will not be of any benefit.
