i didnt tear when i had Connah, just had a few grazes..but i was wondering, what are the chances of me tearing this time?

does anyone have any experience?

thanks x

I had just come on here to write a thread saying the exact same thing.

I just had a small graze when I had Bobby but was just wondering what the possiblity of me tearing this time would be!!

Sorry no advice, but I will be watching this thread with interest

Hello Ladies :hugs:

I had baby number 4 6 months ago. I have never torn just had grazes

I think you are a little bit stretched from previous births lol. :hugs::hugs:

Yeah, I imagine unless the next baby is way bigger or that he isnt delivered very quickly, that since everything has done it before already (and not that long ago) the chances are you wont tear again. I hope so anyway cos I didnt tear either (didnt have any grazes even lol).

i didnt tear with Hannah just had a few grazes, but tore quite badly with Lil - however Hannah was 7lb 12oz and Lily was 9lb so may have been because she was a chunk lol xxx

you ladies are super lucky, I had to have a 3rd degree episiotomy cut cuz DD was so big for my size. I think I do want more children in the future, but the recovery form my cut was not pleasant that it kind of hinders me a bit :(

i got cut with my first so tore with my second caus he flew out so dam quick lol hoping this one will be more controlled and not tear

With my first, I didn't tear, but he was 6lbs, 6oz. However, when my second was born, she was 8lbs,10oz and I only had a minor tear which didn't require stitches (so a graze). So in my experience, the only thing that upped my chances of tearing were that my second was 2lbs bigger than my first. :flower:

I only had grazes with my first and with DD2 and 3 didnt even graze. A bigger baby wasnt an issue for me as DD2 was 2lb 5oz heavier than my first, so made no difference whatsoever. Good luck :flower:

My first was 5lb 15 with two grazes nothing more. 2nd was 7lb7oz, again grazes. 3rd baby 7lb4oz, grazes.

If a lady had an intact perineum on her first baby and she is expecting a similar size baby there is less concern for a tear subsequently. But of course position of baby, weight etc are factors. :)
