how often do they use a pushchair?

im wondering if a double is needed wen lo arrives?

xx

AJ is 2 on Friday, we always use the pushchair.
AJ will walk for 10 minutes tops before wanting carried.

My nephew is 3 in Feb, he's only just started going out without the pushchair for short trips. He still wants carried at times too.

Dylan has just turned 2 and won't walk for long before wanting to be carried. We are buying a buggy board for our pram so he can walk with us, or hop on and have a ride. x

We are having the same dilemma here. Ella still needs the pram for walks etc. Sometimes she'll walk for long periods but then eventually always needs to be picked up, and she's just way too heavy for that. I am pondering whether to get a sling for the baby that can be used early on and then when Ella is a little older (2.5-3yrs) we might get a board she can hop on if she needs it.

Yes I wouldn't be without my double for my 2 yo. I can walk a lot quicker than he can; I'd end up driving more places if I had to walk at his speed all the time. I also have 2 x singles too for if he is walking somewhere/ going out with hubby to somewhere double won't fit etc...

it depends on where we are going and how long we are out for. When I'm going to the mall or for a long walk we always take it with us, but when we rent the car to run errands we very rarely have it with us.

We have this same problem, Amelia will be just under 2 when her little brother arrives and we took a trip to kiddicare yesterday to try out all our different options.

We found -

She kept hopping off the buggy boards and the kidsit buggy board doesn't fit on our silvercross pram :nope:

And when we put her in the side by side pushchairs with dolly in the otherside she would poke dolly :dohh:

I wanted to get a wrap for newborn and use the pushchair Amelia has now but hubby isn't keen :growlmad: so looks like we have the fun task of trying to find a twin pushchair we actually like!

Good luck xXx

My son is 2 1/2 and we no longer use a push chair. He walks everywhere with us.

Annabelle hates being in pushchairs and I know if I buy double it will be money wasted for us! Suppose it depends what your LO is like with walking belle walks nearly everywhere and hates it if u try carry her for trying to speed things up
Lou
Xxx

Hannah pretty much walks everywhere now. It takes a bit longer to get places and do things but she's too big for her stroller. We have an off road buggy that I take with me if we take the dog for a long walk (I'm talking over 2 miles).

i would say get a double! lol or at least some sort of buggy rider thing ? (them little bits that clip on the back lol) or you get seats u can add to the side and then remove... very odd looking but handy ... my Lo is nearly 2 nd a half! and can walk quite far but if he doesn't want to .... then well its world war 3 !!! x

I havnt used the push chair I have in months (dosnt go well on gravel here) . I was wondering would I need a double to but i think i will see how i am without it as i have a sling and william can walk me out.

Mt friends had twins just before her eldest turned 2 and she has one twin and 2yr old in double pram, then carries the other twin.......... seems to work well, her 2 yr old will walk places but still at the age to get tired easily! x

I plan on having the baby in a carrier and pushing Bianka in the pushchair. When the baby is to big to carry, Bianka will go on the buggy board or walk. If she turns out to be a horrible walker, I'll get another McLaren and the attachment pieces.

If both kids have to sleep and it's a family outing we can take 2 pushchairs as we already have a quinny and a McLaren.

I haven't seen so far a double that doesn't look like a tank and really wouldn't want to invest in one for the possible 4-6 months overlap where we'd need it. Of course I may change my mind later.

rhys will be 2 and 3 mths when this ones born i'm getting a double for the simple fact of safety reasons, i can walk round the park with rhys on reins and short walks but pushing a pram around the supermarket or long distance, or anywere busy, i just cant imagine going to the zoo for example and rhys walking the whole way. i'd be worried of geting on a tangle, even going to the shop trying to buy something and then pay for it with a toddler grabbing at everything will be difficult.

i'm lucky i've got a icandy peach so will just have to buy the convertor and carry cot, i'll play by ear if i need to get another seat once baby has rown out the carry cot

x

my 2 year old still uses his buggy quite a lot. He'll walk for a while but sometimes it's impossible to do things with him walking. He's always running off places!

Bailey stopped using one at 10 months when she started walking properly! So she walks every where we go and just holds onto the side of the buggy xx

me and a friend were discussing this this week funnily enough... i would say, we use it about once a week. if we go to the park, soft play etc she walks everywhere, but the buggy is handy as maddi still likes to nap a lot, or if we're out all day. i would say, i like having the option of her in a buggy, even if she doesn't use it all the time. mads will be 2 and half at christmas :D

Maddi and her naps! :haha: they're epic!

i went into town the other day without a push chair and jack walked around town fine, we stopped once for a sit down but other than that he was fine, when i pick my step son up its an hours walk for me so i take the push chair then he walks some and then gets tired so it depend, does your LO still nap? maybe a buggy board would be ok?
