I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with baby #2. And one of the only things that I can think about is names.

With my first baby - now 13 months. Her name has a lot of personal meaning to it.. and this next baby wont have that so I sat down and thought of names that would hold a good deal of personal meaning.

For a boy: Liam Joop (pronounced Yope)
Which Liam, being an Irish name and my favorite male name would hold meaning in not only being my favorite, but also a tribute to my Irish heritage (which means a lot to me).
And Joop, A Dutch version of "Joseph" and also the name to my husbands grandfather, who passed away many years ago. They were close.

For a girl: Isabella Marie
Isabella is a version of my name - Elizabeth. And Elizabeth is a dear name to me, because it was given to me, with much love from my own mother, which also loves the name Isabella.
And Marie is another version of just about every female in My husband's family, all of them are different versions of "Mary", which means a lot to my hubby.

I am also thinking about the name Joshua for a boy, because that is the name of a friend of mine, who has been very special to me since our teens.

I can not get my husband to discuss names with me because "we got 9 months" as he says when I bring it up.

Not names I'd go for but I love the special significance they all hold for you. I like Joop, it's really unique! It's my cousin's LO's middle name too, but they're Dutch. Never heard it used elsewhere.

It sounds like baby #2 will also have a lot of personal connections - so that's nice.

I would suggest Liam Joseph (rather than Joop) since you said it's a variation, and still a nice tribute to your husband's grandfather.

Isabella Marie is pretty, I love the name Isabella. The only concern would be that Isabella is one of the most popular 1st names and Marie is one of the most popular middle names so the name (even tho it has family ties) may seem sort of "generic" especially compared to your 1st daughters very unique name.

Nameberry lists a lot of different variations of your name Elizabeth - Maybe: Eliza, Libby, Elise, Elissa, Bella, Elizabella, Lissabella, Elysabella - Some options that are less common than Isabella.

Beautiful variations of Isabella: Isla, Arabella, Ysobel

I prefer Mary or Maria as middle names over Marie.

My favorite options: Liam Joseph & Elyssa Mary

That is what I was thinking. DD has a very unique name (as far as we can tell there is one other person with the name but she is a teenager over in India or thereabouts).

I go to behind the name for my name searches. And both Liam and Isabella are VERY high in popularity. And I didn't want common names because DD has a very unique, yet meaningful name, and it would be kind of odd to give the next a common run of the mill name. DH, however want the plain, run of the mill names.

I also like the name Moira. A lot even, it is Irish AND another "Mary" variant. Also from what I can see, not common at all her in America at all. So can do like Moira Isabelle or something like that.
