Thoughts on the name Joseph

I'm still really struggling with boys names! At first I wanted something a bit different, but keep going off those and coming back to more classic names.

Hubby just suggested Joseph, which I hadn't really thought about before. I quite like the nickname Joey.

My other fav names at the moment are
Samuel
Oscar
Harry
Charlie
Jack

Boys names are so hard

I like Joseph but don't care for Joe or Joey so that would put me off as it's one of those names that really lends itself to being shortened. If you like either or both then obviously not an issue for you.

I prefer most of the others on your list to Joseph as well, especially Oscar and Charlie.

I like Joseph, it was my grandads name and possibly a contender for this baby. Regarding nicknames we have an Oliver and haven't had too many people use 'Ollie' but I'm glad it has good nickname potential as he can choose which he likes more when he's older.
I love every single one of your boy choices though.

I love Joseph! It's got that old-fashioned vibe but isn't as popular as Harry or Oliver. Plus I think Joe is a cool nickname when he's older. Doesn't work with our last name unfortunately, otherwise it'd be right at the top of my list. I like your other names too but I think Joseph has an edge on all of them.

My oldest is Joseph, he is 4 now and is still Joseph not joe or joey but that may change when he gets to school. So yes obviously I love it! William was a big contender for us too

I'm not a fan of the name Joseph. My cousins name is Joseph and none of the cousins could say it so even to this day we call him Jofus lol. It's also the name of hubs great granddad, granddad, dad & brother. Clearly I've been around it too much to be impartial lol

I love the name Charlie though.

It's a good name! I worried people would call my son Tom, which I don't like, but so far so good and nobody ever has.

Boys names are so hard

I like Joseph (and have two friends with sons called Joseph) and Samuel is my son's name. I like all the others on your list, only being less keen on Oscar. Jack or James was what I would have called my second but it was a girl. I know a lot of people like choosing something "different" whic is fine, but it doesn't always mean they are nicer. Some good solid names like those above are lovely in my opinion x

I live Joseph, it's one of my son's middle names and its a family name for us. Lovely.
