Thread - Getting married abroad?

We're getting married in Kenya but have not yet booked the resort.

Are there any other ladies who are planning to get married abroad?

We're also taking the family with us

I'm getting married in Turkey...with 50 guests I kinda wish i'd gone somewhere else with only parents and siblings and my bestfriend now though

Are you paying for your guests?

We're having 2 receptions to ensure everyones happy that can't afford it, as the minimum is £1500 each

We're paying for 3 nights for them which is costing me enough Just because i'm fed up with the hassle trying to get everyone over there at the same time..some people going for a week others only 3 days and then people arriving on different days I told my parents today that i'm cancelling I want to go away somewhere with less people...

Aww hun, I know we had the exact same problem as you.

We are now going only with a short list and I'm paying for my sister, BIL & baby to make sure they can come.

I was rather annoyed at my Dad though because he kept asking me to change it to Florida when that's really not my thing. Other people are saying oh you can't stay on the same resort for 2 weeks all together! Grrrr. What ever happened to it being the wedding we want?

I'm sticking to my guns though, we're sending the save the dates out in March next year and then just seeing who goes! Part of the good thing about it is you don't have to pay for all the food because it's all inclusive anyway.

Our list only goes as far as:
My side:
Dad & wife
Sister, BIL, Baby (dont know if its a boy or girl yet)

His side:
Mum & Dad
Sister, fiance, baby
Brother
Gran
Auntie

Then there's the reception back home which will be a buffet style one to suit our style:
Approx 60 people.

We don't think anyone apart from his mum & dad will go on his side and 4 people from my side! But we're past caring because everyone will be there to celebrate when we're home. As long as we're married and the day is amazing then I'm happy!

we are 10months tomorrow till we fly out getting married in disney in flordia with our daughter, my parents and OH's parents.
so far we've book for myself, my partner, our daughter and my parents, for two's out there, with the wedding in the middle! all rather exciting and just how we wanted it his parents are making there own arrangements for the day x
