Was watching iron Man too, I'm a little bit in love with RDJ

I'm a bit upset about things that have been said to me on another thread so I'm going to bed now for a cry. Hope I manage to nod off. Night all xx

Someone started a thread about formula and it was suggested to leave the water on the side and add powder as needed. I put a reply about why the powder needs to be added to the hot water - there is a very nasty bug that can cause infant septicemia and meningitis - and I mentioned the word death because I was quoting a couple of articles I'd read. Basically approx 40% of babies who get ill from this bacteria die from the illnesses it causes.

Well I got completely jumped on and accused of scare mongering.

I did some research because the guidelines tell you to use hot water but don't go into enough detail about why. It scared me to think what could happen so I thought I would share what I'd found out - if only to help people make an informed choice. Most people think that their baby might get a bit of a tummy bug if you don't make it up with hot water - the truth is a lot more nasty!

I would prefer to know the facts than be completely oblivious and find out when it's too late - wouldn't you?

Facts are facts, if you like them or not they are NOT scare mongering, they are there for a reason, would they ignore the SIDs guidelines? I doubt it so why ignore those :dohh:

I'm sorry you got jumped on :hugs: x

People throw 'scare mongering' in as soon as it's something they don't want to hear. I know it's unfair for you to have them have a go but hopefully they will secretly take it in and listen even if they don't admit it.

Rightly so! She's your little girl! :hugs:

Love the new avatar!

:haha: bless her!

Mmm i'm making up for not eating yesterday! Curry pot noodle & nachos :pizza:

anna ignore them, its silly. As if your scare mongering your giving facts, facts that could potentially stop one of their babies from getting seriously ill :hugs:
sorry not been on much girlies trying to get the internet properly sorted and im also still nakered.
alfie stood up from sitting down without holding onto anything and just stood still for about 4 seconds  hes growing so fast.

Oh bless him! It's scary how quickly they grow. Fran is getting so independant but wanting constant attention if that makes sense lol!

Aw Anna that's pants, easier said than done I know but don't let it annoy you. I'd much rather know the reasons why these guidelines are in place and sure as hell would be taking no chances with my baby. I'm always taking a peek at the FF board and you are the FF guru!!!!! Your advice is always spot on and practical xx
