throat infection????

can lilly get swollen gland in her throat or tonsilitious i read some where bofore babies dont have tonsil's till they are 2 but she is almost 22 months almost 2 and she told me her face hurts but was touching her throat she has a cough its pretty harsh too started yesterday and her cheeks are dead rosey and she is sooo snotty..... if her throat is hurting im wondering if it could be some sort of throat infection..... ive had her open her mouth and stick her tongue out but i cant really seem to see anything i get tonsilitious all the time so no what it looks like i just cant see

will be going to dr 1st thing to get her checked but just wanted some advice please x
