Does anyone use them on their little lads? I was thinking with the winter coming up of using them, not super girly ones, just dark ones. And I'm constantly losing socks! I just know SOME people will think I'm odd and 'cruel' for putting them on my LO.

i actually met a little boy last year with boy's tights on. they had little ships printed on them and i thought it was a really good idea! xxx

Yep. I use white, cream or plain colour ones (such as red or blue)
It stops the gap between socks and trousers.

Sooo glad this was posted i have a 7month old and my friend a 9month old and i asked the other day after noticing you can buy tights for boys that would she put them on her lo? she said 'oooh no i wouldnt do that to him why would you..' to which i replied 'of course i would he is forever losing his socks its freezing out and if it meant keeping him warm yeah i would.. they just look like socks to others keep him warm an at 7months old with snot dripping into his mouth and saliva down his bib and his feet in his mouth he snt exactly fashion concious' she then said awww poor kyden would ur mummy really do that.. :haha: say again?? would ur mummy rather keep u warm and cozy or let u be cold with a lil pair of socks that u pull off and eat?

Both our Los are boys btw lol

I think it might be a little cruel if you put him in a dress to match. But if you want to break gender barriers you go girl! :flower:

As for wearing under trousers, sounds like a warm and cosy idea!

primark had some plain ones in various colours including bsby blue. i will be using them in the winter on mathew xx

Don't listen to them, they're just being ignorant. The baby doesn't care what he wears so long as he is comfortable and warm enough and tights were completely normal on boys in the 70s and earlier. Personally I hate jeans and trousers on baby boys, I think modern baby clothes are making babies look like little men when I think a baby should look like a baby. He doesn't get that priviledge for long! My baby boy wears tights most of the time, he has white ones, red ones and navy ones and they look very cute indeed, especially with a cute vintage romper suit, or knitted shorts. I bought them from the girls section in mothercare.
MORE TIGHTS ON BOYS!

Yeah I HATE jeans on baby boys. I got given a pair and silly me put them on with a plain white long sleeved babysuit on. He looked like dare I say it, you're all gonna give me a bashing, well the 1st thing that came to mind was 'HOMO'!!!! Nooo please don't think I'm a bad mum, my boy just doesn't suit white OR jeans.

Gonna try get him some stripey ones :)

i made a post on this a while back Ollie has tights on as he sweats like no ones buisness in snow suits and i wanted him to be kept warm he has white black and red ones but the 1st ones i bought him had hearts on them because they were the only ones asda had that werent pink i thought his daddy would think no son of mine is wearing tights but even he said come on if it keeps him warm do it xx

I was thinking about this the other daywith the weather turning cold, if I found some that where plain then id have no problem with him wearing them if it kept him warm (not sure OH would agree but sod him he isnt the one with chilly legs) My only real problem is its a struggle getting him to sit still just putting socks on let alone tights :)

Thermal long johns (from M&S, think Mothercare do them too) are great for when your LO is older.

Last winter was severe & long johns kept my toddlers legs lovely & cosey, whilst sitting in his pushchair. He had outgrown footmuffs & blankets only cover the front of their legs.

I will be dragging them back out this winter, for sure.

I've bought babylegs for Noah, basically long legwarmers and they're gorgeous! I would definitely put thermal tights on him too, even tho the OH thinks I'm crazy  Men just don't get it lol

all my lads have worn tights in the winter

these days theyre advertised as baby tights not girls tights

I agree - what little baby can move in denim???
or combat trousers with pockets (why? why? why?) all over the legs?
tights are warm and flexible, no problem with boys wearing them!

mothercare do leggings which we love. they're just normal trousers with feet on, usually in cotton or velour. we LOVE the velour ones, they're so comfy for him! x

yep i put tights on my first born son whos now 12 and il do the same this winter with Kane, i keep to dark plain ones, but under trousers etc it keeps them warm and thats all that matters!
