Hi Ladies,

We now have to start paying for our IVF Cycles and are hoping to start a full round of ICSI in July/August.

Just wondering where people buy their medications from and roughly how much do they cost??

Many Thanks :flower: xx

Heya hun :)
Asda are great for meds as they do them at cost price. Also I've found Alcura - formally healthcare at home quite good too as they provide all sharps swabs etc asda do not provide these. I've still got all the info for the meds I got - I'll have to hunt it out and update you with prices etc x

Hi babydancing

Glad to hear you are ready to start the journey again.

I got all my meds from the clinic I was with. No idea if the prices were competitive but to be honest I didn't know you could get them anywhere else! I just found it easy to get them in same building (they had a pharmacy) and didn't have to stress about speaking to someone else.

I'd have to double check too and will get back to you.

Thanks hun- I was looking at asda as I see they do it not for profit but I will need alot of sharps etc as I will be on the gestone again too. So maybe Alcura- they are the ones who provided my NHS meds. xx:hugs:

Heya - heres a quick break down of the meds i used and prices =

ASDA
cetrotide 0.25 per injection kit - £22.61 (158.27 in total for 7 kits)
menopur 75iu per vial - £13 (30 vials - 390)
pregnyl 5000iu per vial - £3.15 (2 vials - 6.30)
northisterone tabs - £2.61 for 21 tablets

ALCURA(they didnt give individual prices)
cetrotide 0.25 - £140
menopur 75iu - £390
Pregnyl 5000iu - £13.30
nothisterone - £2.10

All in all only about £11-£12 difference but with free delivery and all sharps etc from alcura i went with them, i suppose it depends on what you need.

I phoned around a few places - if you google cheap ivf meds you can find a great thread about this (cant remember what ir where) the posters talk about all the different places. Its disgusting how the prices vary so much as if we dont have to go through enough without being charged rediculous prices :(

Whats your next step on your journey then hun? :hugs: xx

Thanks hun. I think it will be Alcura. We have a review in May and hoping to start a fresh ICSI cycle July time. We have two frosties but the grades are not brilliant. So, we thought it would be best to keep them frozen, hopefully get some more from a fresh cycle that we could freeze too, and then it gives us a few more chances.

Difficulty will always be that you never know if you will have any to freeze I guess. Such a rollercoaster. We are trying naturally inbetween cycles, just incase a miracle happens...

Where are you at with yours flower? :hugs:

Im just waiting for my failed cycle appointment on the 16th April, then we'll decide what to do when we know the quality of our lil embie. Im fully prepared to take out a loan to cover the cost of the ivf though just in case  xx

How much is it costing for your cycle? If i did a straight ivf fresh cycle it would cost 2500 without meds so id estimate 1000 with meds taking it to a grand total of 3500. We already have 1000 saved up but things are a bit tight at the mo so would have to get a loan for the rest unfortunatley :(

:hugs: it's expensive isn't it. We are paying £4250 for ICSI without med costs  freezing embryos is £370 for first year too. x

Hi baby

My meds were completely different from ones Plex had but thought I'd give you them anyway:

Cyclogest 400mg pessary (30) £39.70
Puregon 600iu cartridge £192
Ovitrelle 6500iu injection £26.39
Suprecur 1mg injection £26

My first year embryo freezing was £915!!!! And that was just for one.
We are going to be doing icsi again in April I think I'll be looking at the pharmacies above though!

Our icsi is £4030 for next cycle and that includes first year freezing, we are using a different clinic as we have moved. Have consultation app on Monday so will find out if that includes meds too.

Good luck to you both!

Xx
