Hi Everyone!

I went for my first doctor's appointment today to confirm the pregnancy (which he did!), but I found out I have a tipped uterus. The doctor didn't seem too concerned about it. He just said that I will probably have more back pain than usual, which I already do have! Anyone else have any experience or knowledge about this??? I am going back at the end of next week for the first ultrasound when I am around 7-8 weeks.

Mine tips to the right. I asked my midwife if I should be concerned and she said no. No mention of additional back pain though.

I had a retroverted uterus, which meant that it was tipped backwards. Over time as the baby gets bigger the uterus should/will correct itself. Mine is no longer retroverted. I wouldn't worry hun, I'm sure yours will correct itself as well. It's quite common which is why your doc isn't worrying. Won't cause an harm to baby :)

I have a tipped uterus and mine wont correct itself as the pregnancy goes. I will just experience more back pain, it will be harder to get a heartbeat on a doppler and it is difficult to see the baby by and abdominal ultrasound. If you want a really good picture of the baby ask them to do a vaginal ultrasound. I am 8 weeks and you can barely see my baby on the abdominal ultrasound. There are no real risks to having a tipped uterus. My mother had 2 babies and she has the same things, so I am thinking it may be genetic. Good luck!
