Heya guys,

I have just gotten AF and I am now onto my 6th cycle TTC#1, and I need some tips of things to try. This cycle I am going to be using -

Preseed
I have never used this before and was wondering if anyone has any tips or anything ?

Maca
This will be my second cycle using it, both me and OH are on 1000mg a day, should we increase that ?

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
First cycle using it properly, how many cups should I have per day ?

Green Tea
Am going to try and have at least three cups a day (although not around the time I take my folic acid as I read it can stop it absorbing).

BBT
This will be my second full cycle temping so am still pretty new at it.

OPKs
I am going to make sure I save all of my OPK's this cycle so I can deffo see when my darkest one is. I am just using the IC ones.

I am also taking B6, B-Complex, Vitamin C, Zinc, Folic Acid and Multivitamins and Iron and I also have OH on all of those aswell.

I am also going to try and BD from behind incase I have a tilted uterus, I am then going to lie practically upside down for at least 5 minutes after.

If anyone else is just starting a new cycle, please let me know what you are planning to use this cycle, I could use someone to talk to, this cycle has really gotten me down. I am only 20 and so is OH and everyone said it would be so easy and happen in no time and here we are on cycle 6.

I saw a psychic last week and I know he is really, really good because he knew nothing about me and had never met me before and knew that I was TTC and even how long I had been trying for, he knew I was at university and studying a science subject, he knew about my boyfriend and my family and everything, he was amazing. I have a couple of friends and he has predicted both of them getting pregnant correctly and even predicted the sex of one of them correctly (the other one is just pregnant so too early to tell). Anyway, he told me he could sense I was worrying and that I should because in his words, I am not barron and OH is not a Jaffa (made me giggle a little bit) and he told me that I will be pregnant with a boy by the end of spring, start of summer. My step-dad had a reading from him a couple of months back and he told my step-dad (without knowing that we know eachother) that the person in his family who is trying for a baby (I am the only one) will either be pregnant or have the baby by the end of 2011. I really, really hope he is right for me like he has been for so many others !

I feel really down that AF got me, especially as she was three days late, I really thought I was in with a chance, so to help my PMA I need some more things to focus on for next cycle, so please give me all the tips you have !!!!!

:flow: Thanks :flow:

I'm afraid I have no idea about most of it, is the multivitamin a regular one or one for conceiving? The normal ones have something in them that isn't good for conceiving and pregnancy.

Sorry I'm not much help.

Hi hun didnt want to "read and run"...so have so tried soy isflavones??? They might give yo a boost during ovulation??? Google them

Hi there BeesBella, I'm sorry I haven't tried any of the things you have questions on. I'm also starting my second month of temping, so maybe we can try to help each other out with that, if need be. I started taking B6 last month and I believe it helped with my LP a bit, so I'm excited about that. Lots and lots of :dust: your way! :D

We've been ttc going on 16 months, so this is what I know from what I've learned (most of which recently):

Preseed - We just started using this last cycle and if you don't need it for lube (or even if you do) you only need a fraction of the suggested amount. We use between .5 and 1.0 GM depending on my own "lube" when we BD - otherwise it's just too much. Only use the recommended amount if you're completely dry.

Maca - Haven't used this, but from what I know/read/heard it can help with regulating your cycles. It may take a few months for you to see results.

Red raspberry leaf and Green tea - Great for the first part of your cycle (before O). I started making an herbal tea from loose leaf (though you can get them pre-mixed) and haven't had any ill-effects. I think they've helped me a lot. :)

BBT - One of the only ways (without blood draws) of confirming O. Highly recommend charting your temps. :flower: Make sure you take your temp first thing in the morning before doing anything else (going to the bathroom, reaching for your phone, turning on the light - keep your thermometer within your reach on your nightstand. And take your temp at the same time every morning (or as close as you can - and with at least 4 hrs of uninterrupted sleep). Also remember that you can take it orally or vaginally (I recommend vaginally since your temps aren't so erratic) - they can fluctuate if you sleep with your mouth open based on the air temperature. And one out of place temp doesn't mean much - it's more the big picture.

OPKs: take them twice a day at the same time each day. Some women can get multiple OPKs so use the last pos OPK as your pos.

Thanks. It's just a normal one, any idea what part of it is bad for TTC ?

I am very tempted by them but don't think I can take them with Maca, I think they cancel each other out.

B6 had been a god send for me too, changed my LP from 10 to 15. =D

Hi Bella, just wanted to say the the first time I got pregnant, it took a year exactly, but ended in miscarriage in November. However, I just fell pregnant again, and it's only 4 months (2 cycles) after the miscarriage. This was our second cycle using PreSeed and Instead Cups. I would recommend Instead Cups, because they keep the semen close to your cervix for up to 12 hours. They're big enough for an elephant, and made me have to pee really bad sometimes, but I honestly think they, along with PreSeed (and BBT's and OPK's) are the reason I fell pregnant so quickly this time. Good luck!!!

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your loss and congrats on your bean.

I am so excited to start using preseed =)

It says

• vitamin supplements and foods, such as liver, containing the retinol form of vitamin A, which can harm the developing baby (the beta-carotene form of vitamin A is safe during pregnancy)

Congrats Jess on your BFP - H&H 9 months. :flower: I've heard a lot of good things with the instead cups - love hearing another success story. :happydance:

hi mom to be

read ur post and need ur help ... im TTC from 4 months n stressed tht y i m not gettin pregnant ... thought uptil now nuthinng is wrong with me n hubby.... so plzz tell me abt ur 1 year journey of TTC ...did u took any clinical tests and medication, and how they helped. is there any specifc reason tht it took u year to conceive.

Hi seek, Just to let you know that the last post from jessica was in March so you may get a better response by pm'ing jessica directly. Just so you know it's perfectly normal for couples to take up to a year + to conceive naturally. So at the 4month mark I don't think you have anything to worry about but can empathise that you are worried about not being able to.

I'm on my 22nd cycle trying (I have month long cycles so now approaching the 2year mark) I have only now begun to seek medical help from my GP. I initially had blood tests to check my hormone levels which were normal.
The next step was a SA (Sperm Analysis) for my OH. His tests came back OK but the motility was below average so he needs to have the test repeated this month as irregularities are quite normal and could be circumstantial. The second test will be compared to the first.

I am due to go for my CD21 blood test tomorrow to check my levels of progesterone after ovulation. I also need to have swabs taken for UTI's and provide a urine sample and have been booked for an ultrasound to check my uterus and fallopian tubes are clear. If the results come back deficient in anything I will then be referred to a fertility specialist and will look into further procedures and medication.

This is the general path to take at the 1 year mark but as I said at 4months you can still try plenty of things to help you conceive naturally. What are you trying at the moment?

Really hope it happens sooner rather than later for you and hope I've been of some help :)
