I'm getting induced 2 days after today and now everyone feels the need to tell me all of these labor horror stories! Like epidurals gone wrong, labors that last for days, saying I'll probably end up with a c-section.. omg what's wrong with people?! I was so calm before and now I'm freaking out! lol

Anyone know of any feel-good labor stories I can read to make me feel better? lol :haha: And is anyone else nervous after hearing someone talk about accidents during labor and stuff?

Are you hoping for a natural birth or anything like that? I find watching positive birth videos on youtube helpful, but that might just be me :) xxx

Thanks :) I'm scared to go searching for them though, I won't know which ones are the nice ones and which ones are the scary ones lol :haha:

And nope not a natural birth, I'm getting pain relief. But any type of labor seems scary now! lol

Aww hun i got induced + it wasn't that bad, are you in the UK? I had an epidural + it was the best, i barely had any pain, just tightenings after that, + the pushing was the best bit (that might sound odd to believe right now lol) you wonder how a baby will fit through, jayden was 8lb 6 and i only needed a couple of stitches ( didn't feel them do it) xx

I can post some nice ones for you if you want :) some of them are lovely, the women dont seem to feel a thing in some! xx

I wasn't induced so a bit different but my birth was brilliant. You can read my birth story iuw it's in my siggie. Everyones birth is different so don't listen to the horror stories.

Aww I love your labor story! Can't believe you didn't make a sound. I'm not very vocal but I bet I'm going to be fussing a bit through those contractions! :haha:

Aww hun :hugs:
I'm the same, especially as I'm now overdue & everyones telling me I will end up being induced & she will be quite big by that time so it will be a horrible birth :(

Don't listen to it though, go in with an open mind and remember there are drugs if you do need them. I hope you have a very quick and easy birth hun! Can't wait to read your birth story!
x

Thank you :) I just tried to relax and stay calm and during contractions I just closed my eyes and concentrated on breathing slowly it seemed to help.

I was induced after my water was broken for 24hrs but it wasn't bad at all I had an epi too tho:)

Aww bless you had a long labor, it's good to hear that it wasn't bad though! :hugs:

And thank you Pixxie for the videos! Loved 'em. If they can do it without any meds I sure hope I can do just as nicely with it lol

My labour wasnt that bad, i'd do it again and would have a week after lol! Only in active labour for 5 hours and even though he had his hand up to his face and the cord around his neck, i didnt get torn or cut or anything (stand your ground with the midwifes unless it is completely necessary, research shows many episiotomies are unnecessary!) I wanted only gas and air but ended up taking pethedine and loved it haha. Didnt want an epi and didn't ask for one either!

I did write a birth story but god knows where it went haha.

i had people tellin me about pooing myself in labour and stuff, it feels asif you are.. but you never do! .. in the end, everything goes away coz youve got ur little one in ur arms. :cloud9: x

Ugh... Tell me about it. :growlmad:

It's like people forget about common sense when it comes to pregnant women. If someone was going in to have their appendix removed or whatever no one would dream of saying 'oh I know so and so who nearly died while having it done'.

Why is it ok to try and scare a woman at her most vulnerable time? I'm all for being informed and all that but I don't need to be told how much it's gonna hurt and whatnot.

ETA: Thanks for the videos, love the second one, how sweet is her little brother after he cut the cord? He looks all excited, bless him. The third one the OH looks really bored at the beginning :haha:

My labour was Perfect after the pregnancy I had

14 hours in total half hour of pushing No stiches or tearing only one shot of drugs No epidural.

So dont worry about it to much it will Pass and you will forget it all the minute you hold your Baby

Omggosh girl let me tell you the epidural is heaven sent. Forget the people who say don't do it. If you want it go for it.! The contractions are ok but when they start getting bigger they just continue and it hurts.. Just a little bit but after the epidural you don't feel a thing. When it came to the pushing you just feel little pressure like going to the restroom. Lol its not bad. Just breast feeding hurts if your deciding to do that but it goes away affter a month. But i got stitches and still didn't feel a thing. I was all happy that my baby was out. Its crazy hearing them cry as soon as they come out. But please do the breathing teqniques it will help you out soo much when your contracting. It doesn't hurt as much.. Focus on the breathing and you will be fine the more panic you become the more it will hurt just stay calm and get into a soothing zone in your mind its ok. =] you can do it!

Oh and I had a natural birth.. No c section or anything. I wouldn't mind going through labor again in a few years. Its not bad with an epi.

I was induced and I had a great birth
No drugs at all!
You can do it. its all a state of mind!
Just think positive:)
and good luck:)

Everyone seems to relish telling me their horror birth stories!
I'm determined i can do it though and it will all be fine. I'm not scared...yet! My mum is very positive about the whole birth experience though and i think that helps. I'm sure that its all in the mind, if you go in there expecting pain and terror then that's the experience you'll have whereas if you go in there with a positive mind frame you'll have a positive experience, atleast thats what i'm hoping :D..xx
