Well - you girls put me to shame.... 46 trimmed ladies.....I booked a Brazilian !!!!!!

Thanks so much for all your tips - I couldn't quite bring myself to go for a Hollywood - so I called a salon and they said - a Brazilian - we call that "the landing strip"

So I booked it for tomorrow afternoon but the just landed so I'll try and re-book it for 5 days and it'll still be enough time to have that done before my first IVF scan.

I have to get it done asap 'cos I can't have my 1st scan with my "80s muff" (thanks for that lovely description ellie )
and then turn up for the next scan - all smooth and porny!

I let my garden grow, but it has a regular weeding! For all Dr's appointment when I know they'll be looking downstairs it's a very tidy lady garden!

i once heard a story about a lady who went for a smear test and thought she better have a tidy up. just before she left for her appointment she sprayed what she thought was a refreshing spray. it wasn't until her doctor commented on how it was unusual for someone to make that much effort, when she looked she realised she'd used sparkly hairspray 'down there!'

not sure just how true that story is but very funny anyway!

That's like the story of a lady going for an examination and having a quick wee in the doctors loo beforehand. She did her business and there was no toilet roll so she scrabbled around in her handbag for a tissue and, fortunately, found one. She thought she was all well until the doctor passed her a stamp during her examination!

Probably an old wives tale but I like it!

Cazd-you are the best! I ALWAYS wanted to know the answer to this-used to try and bug my guy friends to tell me!

I've been cracking up! So, I guess it's not fair to read & run,......so......at the moment it is the kinda wild but trimmed thing. I actually really hate it. Had been Hollywood the last decade since before I even met DH (just shave it all off-so much easier to maintain every morning in shower and stopped itching/bumping about the first month in) but lately he's wanted to see what au naturel would be like on me since he never has. Well he's been making me keep it forever!!!

To tell you the truth though, I'm more comfortable going to the docs now with it more natural. I did feel like a weird porn star shaved at doc. apts......esp, when I had an older lady doctor.

Im in the kinda wild category.. I quit shaving my bikini line even due to razor bumps. --now I just pretty much trim. I have only done the hollywood thing a couple of times but its definitely NOT for me! Too itchy and painful when it starts to grow back--which is what I try to explain to Dh when he says I should do this..

yeah Cazd-honestly, I would feel much more comfortable/"normal" if I were you to go with a bit of a bush than a fresh Brazilian!
Esp. if you get some crazy side effects. Once and ONLY once I tried to do my own wax job. I got BLACK & BLUE bruises EVERYWHERE down there and it swelled up ......it was insane. DH was like "What happened?!?!?!?!

Well I've gone and done it - I am now the proud owner of a brand spanking new brazillian!!!

Hurt like F@!* but I'm sure it'll be well worth it - she left me a teeny bit by the 'doors' so I feel totally trimmed and tidy but not quite a porn star

Its still stinging a bit now - and a few pores have bled but she said that's normal the first time. The most annoying thing is there's a bit of wax I can't get off and it makes my arse cheek stick when I walk!

Well anyway - Holly was fantastic and I'm booked in again for 3 weeks time.
£12 was a total bargain for her dealing with my wild foof.

Hilarious! I had never thought of growing it out to 'cover' myself for appointments. It never really occurred to me that I was exposed. I do the Brazilian. All that hair made me feel not clean, but having it all gone seems girly (although my sister does this). I shave every other day. I did try laser, but didn't have enough to do the job I guess.

A good way to get the DH to trim...tell him it will make him look bigger, which it actually does. Not to mention, less hair=more sensation. We are way passed TMI aren't we?

This thread is too funny. I did get dh to shave before too-I do agree that skin on skin was the best part of the HOLLYWOOD.....it did feel much nicer. Oh well-guess I'm stuck with the bush until DH gets sick of it, lol. It is like novelty for him for now.

I dont like having hair there during AF so i shave to feel fresh and clean. When i get to busy it usually waits untill almost AF time for another trim, otherwise i get trimmed up every week during each cycle.
