*TMI*: Question about bleeding and TTC

My D&C was on the 19th of May. This past weekend, I thought the spotting had finally stopped, but *TMI ALERT* on Saturday night I looked in my underwear and was shocked to see I was heavily bleeding red blood, and the next morning there was a huge clot. After that, the spotting has pretty much stopped. I feel like that really was the last of it.

I did my first hpt this morning since the D&C, and it was only an extremely faint positive using a very sensitive test. (It could be mistaken for a BFN if you looked at it quickly.)

Is it true that a normal cycle with ovulation, etc. can't start up again until the bleeding is officially done?? Also, is it possible for a cycle to resume even with a very faint BFP?

I'm asking because I'm hoping I didn't miss my chance to TTC this past weekend or yesterday. (We never got a chance to BD.)
