I know a lot of women have partners, family or friends in the forces, and therefore understand how hard it is when they go away, but we all understand that what they are doing is a good thing. My OH sent me this letter that he'd seen written by a British house wife, and i have to say i totally agree with everything she has put.

I post this not to offend or upset anyone, i really dont want any bad comments on this. I post this because i know and understand how it feels, having my OH away in the army.

Here is a woman who should run for Prime minister!! This lady sure knows how to write a letter!!

' Are we fighting a war on terror or arent we? Was it or was it not started by the Islamic people who brought it to our shores on september 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac in the nations capital and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

Am i supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll start caring when Osama Bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those inncoent people on 9/11

I'll start caring about the Koran whenthe fanatics in the middle east start caring about the holly bible, the mere belief of which is crime punishable by beheading in Aphganistan.

I'll care when those thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the so called 'insurgents' in Aphganistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the miidless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the british media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories os more imprtant than the lives of the soldiers of the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when i hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I dont care

When i see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:

I dont care

When i hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat. and fed 'special food' that is paid for by my taxes- is complaining that he holly book is being 'mishandled', you can absaltuly believe in your heart of hearts:

I dont care

And oh, by the way, i've noticed that sometimes its spelt 'Koran' or 'Quran'. Well believe me!! You've guessed it:

I dont care

Send this to people you care about if you agree with this view point.
If you dont agree then by all means, hit the delete button. Should you chose the latter, then please dont complain when more atrocities commited by radical Muslims happen here in our great country! And may i add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. Our soldiers dont have that problem!'
I have another quote like i'd like to add:

Only five defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ
2.The British Soldier
3.The Australian soldier
4.The American Soldier
5. The Canadian soldier

One died for your soul, the other 4 for your freedom

Amen

Now as i said i didnt post this to upset or offend anyone, i understand there are some strong words in this...but i also understand that a lot of people would also agree with this!

to be honest, a very controversial letter to write, I can see how it could be taken many different ways, both good & bad

...

There are innocent people on both sides. Just because whoever did it was a certain "type" of person, doesn't make others less innocent.

She sounds like a bit of a racist to me, to be honest.

I have to say, I don't give much of a toss about the rights of Afghani terrorists, which is what they are, so I can sort of see where she is coming from. They are cowardly and pathetic and want to keep their country in the dark ages. Their roadside bombs and IED's don't just kill our soldiers, they kill innocent Afghani children, as do their gunshots.

I have several friends who will never see their husbands again, whose children will never see their fathers, three of those children were babies when their fathers were killed and so will never remember them. Their fathers and husbands who were not only fighting to protect those of us safely sat in front of our computer screens, but also the Afghani people, so forgive me if I am not all that sympathetic to the Afghani insurgents...

That was written by a Brit??? Sounds more American rhetoric, tbh.

Thank you!

As i said i didnt want to offend anyone, which by the looks of everyones comments i have. Im not a racist, and i usually dont have much input on stuff like this, as it can be quite a touchy subject (it goes under the things you dont talk about in my books, like religion and politics) but with everything thats going on atm, and with how well written this letter is, i thought some people would appreciate it.

There is always something on the news here lately about soldiers getting killed, road side bombs, IED's etc.....we dont do anything like that, we fight against it all. We dont set down traps, we dont capture and torture, we go over to protect even their own people!

The lady who wrote this letter was obviously very heated about the topic and did use some strong words, some of which i wouldnt have. But she is just trying to get a point across. As someone stated, it is a very contraversial topic and can be perseived as good or bad.

Anyways, even if you didnt like what you read, thank you for taking the time

Well we are replying to the content of the letter...which is what you chose to post.

Maybe people are capable of caring for the people on both sides. I am.

Really? You care for terrorists and insurgents? Because that is the 'other side' that is being talked about. Not innocent Afghani people, but those who kidnap and murder innocent men, women and children, in the case of 9/11 in their thousands. You care about those people?

I care about our treatment of them. If we let people treat them without due care for their human rights then we become just as bad as them.

 my thoughts exactly

I don't think she put her points across very well AT ALL. I think she's offending all the Afghanistan people and putting down their religion. Its not fair to tar all muslims as terrorists :\
