Ladies - I am 40 and found out at the end of July that I was pregnant for the first time, I sadly lost the baby just one week later on the 5th August, this though made me realise that I do want to be a mum despite all the information telling me that getting pregnant & carrying a baby to term at 40+ is hard. Reading all of your stories gives me hope though, we are currently ttc again but I am trying not to go down the opk route just yet, we are just trying to enjoy the time, I don't know how long it took me to get pregnant this first time as I had problems a few years ago with periods etc and at one point they decided I was probably peri-menopausal (turns out I am not as I had a blood test at the beginning of July which showed my hormone levels are normal), I do know I was still taking contraception at the end of last year & I think it was December/January when I stopped taking it so I know it didn't take me too long to conceive so I am hoping that this time will be the same, I would love to have a July/August baby next year. I love reading all your stories, they have inspired me, given me confidence & lifted my mood more than you can probably imagine. So thank you & I hope I will be able to join you all here very soon.
Good luck with all your pregnancies - I am now going to become a thread stalker!! LOL
