LOL. you may laugh. But today is a big day. No Diet Pepsi since last night. Today I bought a 12 can pack of Diet Pepsi - and it will last me twelve days.
I'm tired and I feel a bugger of a headache coming on. Will let you know how it goes.

WOW! Good Luck with that. I couldn't do that, although I know I should start to wean myself off it slowly to help me cut down when I'm lucky enough to fall pregnant.

I heard that small amounts of caffeine are OK when you're pregnant, like one soda or cup of coffee wouldn't be that bad. Am I wrong?

i am with you there, i am a nightmare with coffee and get dreadfull headaches so i have bought half caff to start wheening myself off it a bit. i did read somewhere that you can have caffine but not to go mad

The reason for my cut off is because everywhere I look it states that "Women who drink even moderate amounts of caffeine during pregnancy -- whether from coffee, tea, caffeinated soft drinks or hot chocolate -- have almost double the risk of miscarriage compared to women who stay away from such drinks."

Seeing this online in many different places - tells me that its a bad habit that I need to nip in the butt. Why would I want to fill my body full of it if there is even a remote chance that its whats keeping me from getting my :bfp: ?

This is a personal choice that I have made. I am most certainly not going to preach it to anyone.

Day #1 - Headache in the late PM. I did have 1 can of Pepsi.
Day #2 - Early PM I feel fine. Will have my 1 can of Pepsi with supper tonight.

It's a personal goal to make 12 cans of pop last 12 days. Prior to this personal challenge, 12 cans would have probably last me 3-4 days. So this is a big step for me...and if I can do it - a huge pat on my back.

Dont they do a caffeine free version where you are? I have switched to Caffeine free diet coke which actually tastes quite like diet pepsi and I have used this to replace my normal diet coke which I used to drink several glasses of a day. It has certainly helped me to reduce dramatically the amount of caffeine I have. Although with your comments above in mind, I might be dropping my 1 a day cup of full caff coffee too as I really dont want to take unncessary risks with this in mind.....

I think we do have the caffeine free stuff - hadn't thought of that. (thanks)
But I think that this is the start of the process for me - just having 1 can a day - I think once I get to this, I should be able to maybe just have one every other day - and then maybe my body won't even crave it anymore. Here's to hoping! HA!

I made it thru Day 2 without hollering at my husband. That's great news for all.

Wonderful, sounds like you are doing well honey :) good luck for the rest of the week x

I am going to join you in the caffeine withdrawl. I am a regular pepsi addict ... I just LOVE the flavour!!!!

My goal today: one can only instead of the 571mL bottle.

We can do this!!

I am with you Appleseed!

I read your journal and had my ONE cup of decaff coffee this morning. Been on the Jasmine tea and water so far.

My work colleague even bought me a bottle of diet coke and I secretly chucked it out - HOW STRONG AM I?

Good luck m'dear, you CAN do it

(do you think my use of capitals conveys my need for the caffiene?!)

I also have a stinker of a headache

Moragx

You can drink hot chocolate. Nesquick powdered chocolate is 99.9% caffeine free. And you can also drink tea that has 0 caffeine in it. There are a lot of other subsititutes that you can have that your body won't mind having. I too had to quit my daily coffee and now I have switched to tea in the morning. It's been okay, I know it's hard. You can do it though:)

Day 3. Not so bad. Doing really well and no headaches. Only thing that I really notice is that I am tired alot earlier in the evening. I am a night owl - and its now 10pm and I could easily go to sleep right now.

So for sure - headaches in the first 36 hours. Tired after that. Its been 3 days - and 3 cans of Pepsi. Never would have thought I would make it this far. Ha! I normally would have drank 4 cans of Pepsi in just one day!

You are doing extremely well. The hard bit is almost over! xx
