We are staying at mymums this week, shes usually really good at keeping things out of my two little ones ways. I was inthe kitchen with my 1 year old just now and she went in the washing machine, i didnt rush to her as i thought it was just clothes. Butthere was a capfull of washing liquid which i think she put her finger in and possibly licked. I instantly washed her lips and hands and she drank her milk straight after. Seems fine and if any was on her fingers it would have been a tiny bit. Im worrying,i know some will say just go a&e but if shes fine its alot of unnessasary stress for her. Shes running around full of beans,no obvious signs of blistering or anytthing.Reassurance would be good?

I would probably call NHS direct or whatever they call themselves these days. I know swallowing liquid detergent can cause bad throat injuries but I would think you would know if that had happened. Still might be better to get some advice just to be sure. We once found my DD playing with the toilet brush, which apart from being totally gross, was covered in bleach. I rang them and they looked up the make of bleach, asked how much she had on her hands etc and basically reassured is not to worry. They were really helpful x

^^ wss depending on what was on it they may want to wash her mouth out etc and check for any damage done x

In my opinion with nhs direct they always send them to be seen just to cover their backs but she has been fine, i guess she didnt get and on her fingers after all or atleast a bit you couldnt even see. She has eatn, drank and slept and i cant see anything in her mouth at all

Also the bottle said it was harmful to eyes but only needed to seek medical advice if you feel unwell so im not worrying too much now

thats good. i know sometimes these things can cause burns to the throat and stomach. glad shes ok xx

Gosh just seen all my typos lol. Sorry fat thumbs. Im so cross with my mum though

:hugs: it was more than likely habbit for her as thats more than likely what she normally does.

I'm sure your little one is fine. If she's eating and playing like her usual self, then she's okay. Is there a poison control center you could call? I know there was a post on Facebook a while ago about a little boy who bit into a pod and had to be hospitalized, so scary! I'm not trying to scare..your post just made me think of that. Just monitor your little one and if she's not vomiting and being herself, then you have nothing to worry about.

I dont know about a poison control centre but she was fine until about an hour ago when she has got a temp and not had tea but her big bro was the same on saturday so i guess she has the same bug which luckily only lasted the day! No sick or anything and luckily from what ive read the gel isnt as concentrated or as bad as the pods unless it gets in eyes.
I spend all day every day at home keeping all bad things away, its so hard when we come back home for a few days

I hope she's feeling better. No matter how hard you try to keep things away from them, they find a way to get into something. Lol.
