Just got back from my scan and am in shock . Whilst having it i briefly mentioned that i will be paying fro a private gender scan in few weeks and as she finished everything she needed to and we were waiting for Craig and the kids to see baby she said so your going to go pay to find out the gender whilst biting her lips ... i said yes , why do you know ? And she said i'm not supposed to tell you yet but i am almost certain ( later went on to tell us baby is in perfect position and she has a really good look) and when craig came through so was showing us how she knew and even before she told me i knew boy and sure enough she said we're having a BOY !!!! She said girl bits can be swollen and sometimes and people can be mistaken but even sayin that she sees obvious extra boy bits What do you ladies think from my scan pics xx

not sure but nub does seem to be on an angle so she might be right xx

wow! She is most likely right but I really wouldnt take it as gospel at this stage. Roll on the gender scan so you can confirm! x

I have taken it with a pinch of salt but before she even said what she thought i KNEW boy just looked so boyish . I'm going to buy few boys things as it's not the end of the world if a girl has to wear blue but i won't be getting everything untill gender scan . Will be having one on 18th of next month so hopefully stays boy for me :) Thank you for the replies so far:) xx

I'm suprised... we had a scan today (13+3) we saw right between the babys legs and there was nothing, she said it's too soon to tell as boy bits might not have grown enough to be seen (there was nothing between babys legs)

I was told at my 12 week scan I was having a boy.. No doubt about it...

I was getting loads of negative comments saying, ''Ooooh don't get your hopes up as they cant tell bla bla blaaaaa'' So I proved them wrong and got a gender scan and I am, having a boy!!!

Some people say they're surpriced about us getting gender guesses at 12 weeks... Some hospitals do, some don't... When I had my 12 week scan my sonographer was ''top'' so I knew he had to be right...

As I've said all along, they have more chance of getting wrong by saying you're having a girl and not, it turning out to be a boy that it being the other way round iygwim...

Congrats on your :blue: bump :) x

She gave us the potty view and there was definetly something ! Maybe something to do with babies growing at different rates or maybe a sign of girl ?? Not sure xx

I found this video very helpful!

MAybe it is a girl and she just didn't want to say... i hope it is but i'm not counting on it :-)

I would take it with a pinch of salt until a scan thats more further along :)

It definitely looks like a boy nub to me! :flower:

They told me at my 12 week scan they were 90% sure it was a boy based on the angle of the nub.... Well, here I am at 22 weeks and it's a girl!

All i can say is she must have been sure to say it. Professionals don't usually say anything unless they are really sure. xo xo R.

I was told at my last appointment (14 weeks) that we are having a boy. The nurse told me that she would not say anything unless she was confident in what she saw.

I showed my best friend (who has a one year old son) the scan picture and she said, "That's definitely a boy!"

The nurse drew an arrow to the boy bits and it sure does look like a boy to me! I will be very surprised if I am told different at my next appointment!

I asked about the nub before i realised she had an idea of the sex and she said never heard about that before so i know she didn't base it on the nub theory x

I could see my baby's boy parts at 12w 5d, so I think it's very possible to tell at 13 weeks. We had it confirmed at our 17 week scan.
