I have the electric steam thingy one.. But dont have instructions and i understand that it comes up with 'S' when sterlising and then goes through to 'C' and something else then goes to '3' when ready and counts down to 1.
But somtimes it flashes up with 'E' and stays that way for ages... What does 'E' mean? Are the bottles ready to take out and use? :dohh:

Of corse i always put water in it..!!! I put 80ml of water in everytime.. i measure in the actual TT bottle and pour in..

the 3 2 1 means how many hours the bottles r sterile for an i think the E means they need sterilising again so maybe it means end thats what i took it for anyways lol

Yes the E is normally when they need to go re-through the sterilizer

Its been coming up with 'E' loads lately.. Iv used the bottles anyway though :| because i didnt have a clue what it meant, thought it meant 'Empty' as in take the bottles out :rofl: :rofl:

E is just a general error in the sterilising cycle ... though 99% of the time its due to not enough water, i never put 80mls in, i just tip some in until i think it looks like enough lol

Oh i see. Maybe my sterliser is on its way out or something because its been doing this loads lately :hissy:

Yeh E is for error. Its only ever done it for me when I've forgot to put water in, oops. Might be time for a new one! I think the Asda baby event is on until Sunday, the microwave steriliser is only £10 atm I think.

Yeah its Error hun, mine broke last wknd....its on its way back to TT now...bloody thing...Im on microwave one now. Anyway....everytime mine did come up with E it was coz i forgot to put water in it or not enough coz like PP im too lazy to measure it! x

Yup, E is for error. I always measure out slightly more water than 80mls to put in.

Thanks girls. I will keep an eye on the water properly from now on and see if it carrys on doing the error thing! x

i agree that most of the time Error seems to mean that it hasnt got enough water, 80 mls has always been enough for mine , but maybe a splsh extra to make sure ?

should go through :
H = heating
S = sterilising
C = cooling
and then 3, 2, as in hours to go until the bottles are no longer considered to be sterile.

after E for error you shiuld need to unplug it to start it up again after adding more water.
have you been descaling ? the book recommend doing this every 4 weeks or so ( can buy sachets of descaler for elec steam sterilisers form boots etc , they come with instructions ) just a thought

Thanks, I used citric acid to descale it and i clean it all the time just with water!

Have you tried unplugging it and leaving it for about 5 minutes and then plugging it back in?
If that doesn't work Id send it back to TT
x

Sometimes mine says E when I don't shut the lid properly.. or its just having a fit for no reason. I turn it off at the plug and start again.

Ive only had E (ERROR) come up when there hasn't been any or not enough water in it xx

Iv been making sure iv put enough water in it since i first made this thread and it has still come up with E once. Just have to re do them when it does come up with error, I just had no idea what E meant before!!
