I love the name Abby, so cute!
When i was pregnant with my son, i had the name Abriella on my list if bump had been a girl. I prefer Abriella to Abigail, bc to me it sounds softer & prettier... but my ultimate goal was to end up with the nickname "Abby" for the baby... bc it's just so darn cute!
I know (in the US) it's in the top 10 and has been for several years (at least) -- but i would never have guessed that bc it doesn't seem that popular
I'm glad i didn't end up using the name Abby tho, bc i met my OH a few months after i had my baby & OH's niece is named Abigail/Abby. We have small families... so two kids (out of ONLY 2 kids!) with the same name would have been very silly!
I think you should use the name if you love it, plus i love the connection to your mom!
Aubree
Aubriella, nn. Aubri
These are two similar alternatives... although i have a feeling they are becoming popular too (since two moms on 16 & pregnant named their babies Aubrey)
