I just wondered... what is the purpose of a Top and Tail bowl. I'm just looking at the bathing sets and they all have them. What are they for?

xx

giving baby a quick wash with out bathing them xxx

Most people say they're a waste of money and any bowl will do just as well but I figured they're normally only about £3 so why not!

I had a top and tail bowl for my oldest son (now 9) which came with the bath and potty. I used one side when changing his nappy and the other side to wash his face and hands afterwards. I never bothered with it for my other 2 sons though.

I think they're a waste of money, just use any bowl.. also the one we had was way too big. Baby baths are a waste too. We bought both when we were pregnant and silly lol.

I like the look of these that you put inside your own bath, It leaves both your hands free.

Has anyone used one of these and would recommend them?

I would defo recommend the second one, I had one similar and it was ace! x

the only downside of getting things that go in your normal bath is that you use more water. And i pay my water by cubic metre. not by a set payment. Not that it ever costs much but you know what i mean. Atleast in a baby bath you only have to use as much water as goes into the baby bath

ive got a Aquarium Bath use from birth and supports baby so you can be hands free think its the best. I havent got top and tail bowl I might buy one not sure yet.

I've got a bath from Mamas and Papas, it allows you to have both hands free. This was a god send with my daughter, and can't wait to re-use it, just need a jug to fill it up. Though it doesn't fit in the bath which is a pain.

ps: Never used my top and tail bowl, just had a new bowl for the sink, which was fine.

Weve got one of those foam supports, Im really nervous about bathing the baby, especially if Im on my own, so its only for my own piece of mind.

We'll probably get a top and tail bown because its part of the set we're getting.

We've got a couple of those foam supports somewhere if anyone wants them. TBH they weren't any use to us as MIL bought them when they were already too big for them. We used the baby bath early on and switched to the big bath with a bath mat when the splashing got too much. Thankfully bathing two at once in the same water is pretty efficient.

They love the freedom of being able to move. I had a bath seat thingy but only used it once. They didn't like it and once they were in, they were so slippy I couldn't get them out again!

With the benefit of hindsight, I'd probably just bath them in the basin in the early days.

I'm using the top and tail bowl still but only for water to wash their hands and faces with because it's easier to take the water to them than to carry two babies into the bathroom.

i thought a top and tail bowl was basically what it said you use one side to wash their face (top) and one side to wash their bum (tail) because i dont think your supposed to wash their face and bottom with the same water or sponge x
